Mechelle's POV:
Alexander Duncan let out a soft scoff, "He really thinks the world revolves around him."
I never imagined he wouldn't leave me alone in the hospital but instead brought me back to the villa halfway up the mountainside. He even instructed Diana to make some nourishing soup for me. The room felt mysteriously desolate.
Lying on the soft bed, I had no desire to move, my gaze fixed on the sunlight streaming in through the window, a melancholy shadow creeping over me.
After Alexander Duncan carried me back to the room, he never stepped foot inside again. Diana brought me meals, but I ate very little. I barely touched the carefully brewed pot of soup she had prepared. Suddenly, I felt adrift, cut off from the outside world. Perhaps I should listen to Lucas and leave here for good.
"Miss, you really should eat a bit more. Alpha will be distressed to see you so thin," Diana urged.
