"I am nothing like you," Rain hissed in a low, firm whisper, her tone soft enough to remain discreet yet sharp enough for her father to hear. Her eyes blazed with defiance as she continued, "I will never be like you. I refuse to stand by idly. I will fight for Aryan, for Doni, and for every single person I care about."
Her father chuckled, a low, mocking sound that sent a shiver down her spine. "How endearing—your relentless optimism," he said, his amusement evident. "That's what I like about you."
Rain's frown deepened, her lips pressed into a thin, determined line. She didn't reply his taunt. Instead, she focused ahead. Without hesitation, her father handed her over to the emperor, his expression smug, as though this was some twisted triumph for him.
