Alexander had lost the feeling in his legs and the light of the Goblins torch was bright and irritating. He tossed Kai to the side, and drew his sword, holding his blade over his shoulder, pointing at its chest in a high guard.

'Remember the training. Wait for them to move, dodge, then strike. This goblin seems tougher than the ones in the cave, so I need to careful. It's body is burnt, it's left arm is useless. I can do this.' Alexander stepped forward slowly watching the goblin who grew more and more agitated at the humans presence.

The goblin had a single club with spikes made of raw iron. It lifted the club up with a screech, swinging it wildly at him from the left strongly. Alexander blocked it with, taking the full force. His hands became numb immediately from taking the multiple strikes, blocking them untill blood dripped from his grip.

The goblin attacked again but became confused as it hit air. Alexander dodged on its left, his blade was quick as he saw the goblin over extend to finish him with one blow. Practicing with Nakamura taught him a great deal about timing, using the moment his opponent thought he won to counterattack.

'You're slow!' His blade slid into its left side, the body was tough, giving in with his full force. The goblin died with a twitch, sliding off his blade with a slick sound. He looked around for more and saw a few running back towards the congregation of other Goblins to warn them of the attack.

'Now to get this idiot out.. that a**hole,' He turned to grab Kai and run, but found only marks where Kai had crawled through the gate to freedom without him.

His legs were helplessly numb as he stomped clumsily through the gate and fell over just as his timer beeped and the barrier of magic encased the whole camp in a light blue dome.

The barriers huge mass encased the entire 400 meters or a quarter of a mile of the csmp. Using Max's tech and the mana of two individuals, the barrier expanded well beyond safe standards ordained by FUG.

The Goblins inside beat wildly at the barrier as they saw the humans, agriely trying to get to them and eat their meat. The smoke at the same time as their wanting attack, rose from the carnage of Kahawai's attack, a large barrage of fireballs slaming into the crowd of goblins.

The smoke filled the barrier with deadly poison that swirled back down onto the survivors, enshroudingnthem in toxic fumes and smoke.

"You have some nerve, Kai!" Alexander crawled through the dirt and mud towards Kai's slumped form. Anger at how he risked his life for that slimy trash. He was going to over look his false unconsciousness but to leave him we he could have helped was too far.

"I did what.. I had to, freak. Someone get this idiot away from me!" Kai spoke breathlessly. He was powerless against Alexanders threatening crawl as he pushed himself to get away from him.

"Girls, Calm down. You're both beautiful, and mother loves you equally," Max quipped. "You did well and you both survived. In the nick of time I may add. Lets survey the situationand make sure that those goblins dont break out, which I need total concentration for. So, please be quite."

Alexander spat at the defenseless Kai, as Kahawai and the Scout team, bloody and fierce looking, joined them. They looked just as out of breath and exhausted as Alexander, but being the scouts and warriors of the group, they had more stamina.

"What happened, and what's that thing?" Fox spoke, seeing the two sprawled out in the dirt. His sword shifted mechanically into a large axe, as he prepared himself for the horde of goblins banging at the barrier. A gift from Max as they left the estate.

Relax, boneheads. That barrier is very fragile from our side, but extremely strong on their side." He tapped at his holographic display, examining the levels of fluctuations and data the barrier was handling. The smile on his face meant that all was going exactly how he wanted.

"What's it doing? How are we going to destroy them behind a barrier? Seems like a very huge step to have been missed." Alexander asked, confused and hardly awake.

"That's the problem with the new system of thinking the school pushes on you delinquents. Magic can do wonders I will admit. I've made so many breakthroughs with light magic, It was my first bachelor's degree ill have you know. However, Science is the first and most powerful magic of all! Take this barrier for example. It's magic keeps all elements, except Air, from getting in or out. A marvel and masterpiece that will never come again. The smoke and poisions from the attack earlier will create a powerful cocktail, and well see for yourself.."

The Goblins began to slow their banging against the barrier as something affected them quickly. Those closest to the barrier could be seen with dizzy expressions or passing out after a small amount of time. The bigger ones spewed onto themselves or others before passing out.

Soon, those still able to move, had either run into the cave opening to escape the unknown illness affecting the others. Unknown to them that their fate was already sealed.

"Thats..That's..." Kai mutterd disgusted.

"That is death in her purest form. No blood, no ammo, just death. Delivered by our hands. I would never use this in our world, as It could cause untold destruction, but here, I see it as an experiment in survivability."

'What magic can do that?' If he was my enemy, could I beat him?'

Within minutes the entirety of the goblin camp was reduced to bodies and smolders. Hundreds of goblins died within minutes and the carnage spread over the entirety of the camp. No one was spared.

"You really are a deprived individual, Max. However effective it may be."

"I'll take that as a compliment, their sacrifice to science means we don't have to be sacrificed for their meal. I call that equivalent exchange. Thanks to all of us, we don't need to face hundreds of F ranked enemies, that could possibly over take us, or take days to hunt down."

A deep rumbling spread through the entire area, originating from the mountain. A scream of pain and anger echoed from the opening.

"I assume you have a plan for that, Braniac. Most of us don't look ready to fight a D ranked boss." Alexander sat up. The rumbling disturbed his rest, taking his attention away from his inner mind.

The mountain cracked and shook, breaking apart as a single individual rose from the top. Rocks fell to the side and debris rose and peeked at the barriers apex fqlling down onto the helpless bodies of goblins. The individual turned to the group and directed its floating body at high speeds toward sthem.

"Here it comes!" Kalani shouted, bringing her own spell to her hands.

The floating individual was a Goblin Shaman, a powerful Goblin who learned to awaken it magic. It was tall, near Kahawais size, staring many of them in the eye with soulless black eyes.

Alexander stumbled back, holding his sword shakily. He was an F rank, being so close to a higher end D ranked creature with hostile intent sent fear th4oygh his body.

'Its so hard to even think? Is this the true power of a creature stronger than me, something I could never defeat? This isn't just a D ranked creature, it's to strong. With power like this, I would expect it to be a C ranked creature!'

The creature slammed a green fist into the barrier, it's black locks and trinket embroidered robes jingle with every hit. The barrier held for three hits before cracks in the spell began to show, sending alerts to Max's screen.

"What's the plan for this thing," Kahawai asked, a large ball of fire magic in his hand. Those who had the ability followed their lead.

"I had, five. They are all standing right here, so do what you do best. I made a wonderful recovery formation, so you should be feeling better. Aim at its vitals and good luck!" He said, scurrying behind a deployable metal dome with strong runes all around it.

Crack! Crack!

The goblin broke through the barrier, shattering it. Smoke rose again I to the air, but all the Goblins had already fallen seconds past. The Goblin shaman, rose its staff angrily, it's movements were drawn out and sluggish. It's mana fluctuating wildly at the group, making the stand behind Fox's shield. The shaman used the mana around it, now that the elements were free to use, trying to healing itself.

Light mana flooded it's system, activating it's cells to work faster, divide, and absorb quicker. This would work on many poisons and many diseases that the shaman had seen, but never on Carbon poisioning. The poision replaces oxygen in the body and stop more oxygen from combining with cells, it's Light magic speed up the time it would die from asphyxiation, and it did almost as soon as the spells magic ended. If it had been a complete C ranked monster and not just a high ranking D rank, which were still governed by the laws of the universe, it may have survived.

The group saw the Light spell activate and retaliated almost immediately, casting their fire, water, and darkness spells at the creature with all their might. The combination of tier zero spells and tier one spells collided against the dead body, blasting it back into the mountain with frightening speed.

The goblin shaman crashed head first into one of the many spikes that decorated the mountain, commissioned by itself. Reducing the creature to a skewer.

"Well, that will do guys, perfect as always." Max folded his safety bunker and joined them at the gate. "Couldn't have planned it better myself. Oh, wait I did."
