Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 Mr. Lu, Awesome!

Second Box.

"What!?"

Cecil thought he must have misheard.

He looked at the waiter with some confusion, wondering,

Could it be that Lu Shi could write "Yes! Prime Minister," but didn't know what Salisbury meant?

He asked the waiter, "Did you tell the truth?"

The waiter nodded, "Yes, I didn't hide anything."

Cecil frowned.

A scholar encountering a soldier, there's no reasoning to be had. If Lu Shi is savvy, that's one thing, but if he's ignorant, that's another.

But then again, how could a Chinese know so much about British matters?

This "Yes! Prime Minister" is probably not Lu Shi's work.

Cecil shook his head helplessly, "Forget it, forget it, I'll go see him."

Wardhouse beside him said, "Why so relentless? Our Great British Empire is inclusive. Surely, it can accommodate a Chinese student?"

Cecil sneered, "A student? How come I heard he's going to be a professor at one of your colleges under the London University Alliance?"

Wardhouse was at a loss for words.

"Humph!"

Cecil snorted and then nodded to the waiter, indicating to bring the wine, and left the box.

...

First Box.

Margaret looked around,

She cautiously glanced at the Queen first, then at Lu Shi, not understanding what had just happened.

But when she thought of the previous scene, she couldn't help but smile,

She had always thought Professor Lu was the kind who didn't joke much, always steady, but now he was really arrogant, just like a young nobleman, and even worse.

As for the Prime Minister...

Margaret didn't care at all,

With the Queen in charge, there was nothing to fear at all.

At this moment, the Queen coughed lightly and said, "Rita, stop looking around. What, are you still worried about what just happened?"

Margaret shook her head, "No! I'm not worried!"

The Queen smiled and glanced at Lu Shi for a moment, then turned her gaze back to the stage.

Just then, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Lu Shi got up to open the door before Stevenson, walked over.

Outside the door stood a seventy-year-old but spirited old white man, almost bald on his forehead, clean and tidy, with the few hairs on his head combed to the sides, forming a middle parting,

This must be Robert Gascoyne-Cecil,

the current Prime Minister of the Great British Empire.

Lu Shi smiled, "Your Excellency Prime Minister."

As he greeted, he closed the door behind him.

Cecil was stunned for a moment, vaguely feeling that the fat man in the first box looked somewhat familiar, as if he had seen him at some royal ceremony,

He wanted to take a closer look, but before he could, he only saw a few people inside through the crack in the door,

Besides the fat man, there were Shaw and Margaret,

And there was a small figure hiding in the armchair, even the gender couldn't be discerned.

Cecil had a bad feeling in his heart and contemplated.

Lu Shi cleared his throat,

"Your Excellency Prime Minister?"

Cecil came to his senses, organized his thoughts, and said to Lu Shi, "Mr. Lu, I see you know who I am. Well, being able to write a script like 'Yes! Prime Minister,' you must be well-versed in the politics of the Great British Empire."

This sentence seemed to imply something.

Lu Shi raised an eyebrow slightly, not picking up on the other's cue.

Cecil continued, "Mr. Lu is Chinese, hasn't been living in England for long, and certainly hasn't been a civil servant. How did you manage to write such a good script?"

Sure enough, the wine is not in the cup.

Lu Shi chuckled, "Because I know how to treat people to dinner."

Cecil was dumbfounded, "Treat... treat to dinner?"

Lu Shi nodded, "Yes, most of the content of 'Yes! Prime Minister' comes from the revelations of the staff at Whitehall and Downing Street."

As for who specifically leaked the information, let Cecil figure it out himself,

There simply wasn't such a person.

Cecil looked at Lu Shi, feeling that what the other said made some sense, but it also made no sense at all.

This seemingly true but actually false sixth sense was quite maddening.

After pondering for a moment, he decided to talk about Margaret and force Lu Shi to admit.

But just then,

Boom—

Laughter erupted from the audience, as if it could overturn the roof.

It should be the end of Act Three.

Cecil had to stop, waiting for the laughter to subside before continuing his conversation.

However, before he could speak, he was interrupted again,

The door of the box was pushed open,

An elderly voice came out, "Mr. Lu, it's been quite a while since you left. It's a shame to miss such a wonderful plot just now."

Looking towards the voice, Stevenson was holding the door open,

The Queen's short figure had already stood up, walking out with Margaret's support.

Cecil: ? ? ?

He was completely bewildered.

But the Queen seemed not to notice him, murmuring, "Even the Prime Minister is here... Ah, so it's you who wanted to have a light drink with Professor Lu. Hehe, I was just wondering who had such a big face~"

This remark was more cutting than any satire in "Yes! Prime Minister."

Cecil's old face reddened, but luckily his face was covered by the full beard, so nothing inappropriate was revealed.

He blurted out, "Professor Lu... Uh... Professor Lu's creation of 'Yes! Prime Minister' is sharp and satirical. After seeing it, I, as the Prime Minister, feel guilty and have an urge to make amends."

"Poof~"

Margaret burst out laughing.

The Queen coughed lightly, indicating to her granddaughter to try to hold back.

Lu Shi was also trying hard to hold back his laughter,

"So, Your Excellency Prime Minister wants to have a drink with me? But, about the wine, I've already mentioned it, the first box didn't prepare any."

This was equivalent to a blatant slap in the face.

Cecil's face changed,

But when he looked at the Queen next to Lu Shi, he finally didn't turn around and leave. Instead, he turned back, took the wine from the waiter, and personally poured a full glass for Lu Shi.

Lu Shi smiled and accepted it,

"Thank you."

After thanking him, he drank it all in one go.

Cecil stared at Lu Shi for a while, then drank up the wine in his glass too,

"Thanks for your company, Professor Lu."

After speaking, he made a gentlemanly gesture to the Queen, and quickly left.

The Queen seemed not to notice Cecil's series of actions, and smiled at Lu Shi, "Professor Lu, I've carefully considered it just now. You really should write the script for 'Roman Holiday' and then perform it at the Royal Opera House. It will surely make a splash in Britain."

They chatted about "Roman Holiday" as they walked back.

So,

Cecil headed to the Second Box,

while the Queen, Lu Shi, and Margarita headed to the First Box,

and the two groups parted ways like that.

The waiter couldn't help but look around nervously, his back damp with sweat,

but he was also extremely excited,

Today was truly an eye-opener, fortunate enough to see the Prime Minister in person, not to mention the even bigger surprise that followed, that there was someone even the Prime Minister couldn't invite.

Mr. Lu,

awesome!
