As the hesitant figure raised her hand to knock on the door, she took a deep breath to steel her nerves. After a moment of silence, she softly asked for permission to enter.
Timid and uncertain, she slowly stepped into the room, her eyes cast downwards as she awaited the response from those within. The dim light of the room cast a soft glow on her features, showcasing the vulnerability in her eyes as she hesitantly walked in.
A tender smile graced Rachel's lips as she stepped into the foyer, her heart aflutter with emotions long held in silence. "Idris," she breathed, her voice a melody of warmth and longing. "I ..."
"Rachel?" Idris wheezed out slowly, his esteemed acting skills, as well as genuine emotions from another timeline were at full display.
Idris paused, his gaze locking with Rachel's, a torrent of emotions swirling within his depths. "Rachel," he began, his voice a whisper carried upon the winds of fate. "There's something I need to tell you."
Rachel simply nodded, lowering herself to her young master's bed side to lessen the strain on him. As she held his hand and looked into his captivating eyes, she spoke softly.
"Of course Idris. Tell me whatever you want?" Tears welled in her eyes, but she steeled herself for the man she loved.
Her selflessness, evident in every gesture, kindled a flame in his heart that refused to dim. Despite their societal difference, he couldn't ignore the profound connection they shared.
With trembling hands and a heart pounding with certainty, he took a leap of faith. In a moment suspended in time, amidst the gentle hum of evening, he poured out his soul, proposing to her.
"Rachel, I've been wrestling with something in my heart, something I can't ignore any longer. While I might have noticed your affection, I had always taken it for granted. But these past few weeks, seeing your care and devotion, I realized what I needed was right by my side, and not Luna"
Rachel blushed heavily but quickly spoke "I... I care for you deeply, sir. But I'm just your maid"
Idris pushed his hand downward to hold hers, gently rubbing her hand as he confided his true feelings "No, you're more than that. You've become my confidante, my support. Rachel, will you stay by my side, not just as my maid, but as my partner? Will you give me the honor of loving you, whole heartedly? together as one for this life of ours?
He slowly looked up to see the shivering Rachel, a gentle stream of tears flowing down her perfect face.
"Yes, yes of course, yes a thousand times." The crying Rachel hurled herself towards the scarred man, her emotions of love and devotion finally reaching those of the young man she has loved and will love, her young master Idris.
Idris winced in pain, but nevertheless held her in his embrace, her supple yet toned body lying cozily in his embrace. The maid soon realized her posture was a little to comfortable and backed of, giving him a soft peck on his cheeks before running away like a naughty child, her harmonious and bell like giggles leaving his heart in joy as his face turned grim.
"I can see you, you do know that right?" He stared into the blank space. It was now time to test whether the so called transmigrator's information is true or not.
The silence was defeaning, but even the slightest chance of an assassins being present in the premise of the hospital ward implied the future he wanted would no longer as easy as he expected it to be.
Idris's sharp senses could feel the perpetrator moving, his steps light as feather.
But never could he have expected the perpetrator to reveal themselves, much less it being a lady.
"... Luna?"
