Patty remembered that magnificent experience he had with the massage chair. It was so relaxing, in fact, that he was able to regenerate his energy. He remembered what the system showed him during that state.
[Relaxation level: 10%]
[Due to your current state, you will gain 10 energy for each hour you are relaxed]
If Patty didn't have enough reason to spend a fortune on massage chairs, then he had a million more reasons now. With each hour on the massage chair, he can potentially earn one Summoning scroll without worrying about his energy levels. It was extra energy without doing anything at all!
He finally understood why the system was called 'The Lazy System'. With bonuses like these, he would be completely incentivized to become more and more lazy, which was what he was looking for. He would be rewarded for lazing around on a massage chair. And as he got more and more relaxed, the more energy he could earn.
Based on what the system showed him, then if he reached 100% relaxation levels, then he could potentially be earning 100 energy each hour! That was a staggering amount. He could be earning enough energy to summon 10 minions every hour! Yes, that's right, ten whole minions! If he was summoning that many minions, then it would only be a matter of time till he summoned an S-class or higher minion.
Did you say that S-class minions only had a 0.5% chance of appearing? Well then I would have to just summon 1000 minions to get them! He'll become a gacha whale who used his immense money to buy his way into having high class characters.
Of course, he didn't know how to achieve 100% relaxation yet, but at least he knew how to get 10% at least.
He just had to get that massage chair.
During weekends where he didn't have to waste energy going to school, he could spend all day on that massage chair and get 160 energy all day! He would have a total of 260 energy to spend that day, which was just enough to get two full ten summons that cost nine scrolls each, and an extra 8 scrolls.
28 summons?! Weekends just got immensely better. And if he was feeling the itch of gambling with the summon scrolls on weekdays, then he could just skip school and just farm scrolls while watching videos on the television. It was perfect! Of course, he would be hearing a mouthful from professor Ortez the next day, but who cared? He had 28 new minions at that point.
But for now, he had to push down his hunger. He still didn't have enough money to buy the massage chair. And he still had to figure out how he was going to make Grammo better at singing or else he would be expelled from school. Although that seemed like a good thing for him since there wouldn't be any school to hinder him anymore, his family would eventually find out and hunt him down for this.
If he fixed Grammo's singing three days before the deadline, then Patty could just stay at home all day long. Professor Ortez can't complain or give him bad grades during this time because their contract stated that any school related quiz or exam during this one week time period would be an automatic perfect score for them.
Now that he explored the Energy market, it was time to check the Interdimensional Market
[Due to the low level and class of the Interdimensional Merchant, he is limited to only showing three random items. This will be refreshed every day. Refresh timer: 23:58:30]
[Item 1]
• ( * * * * * ) Tribulation Dark Demon Lightning Cultivation Technique of the Shadow God
[Item 2]
• ( * * * ) Transcendent Goddess of April's Set of Make-up Powder
[Item 3]
• ( * * ) Fixed Large-scale Teleportation Module
Wow, he had never heard of these kinds of items before. In Patty's world, there weren't any cultivation techniques that were widely sold. At most, there could be martial art scrolls that had techniques written down onto them, but that was considered useless since a Master could just pass down their Teqx onto their students. So, writing down a technique was futile and was at risk of being found by competitors or thieves.
The make-up powder was reminiscent of those beauty products that idols and celebrities sell to their fans. However, in this world, naming a product was extremely specific. You cannot simply say that you were a Transcendent Goddess without actually proving that you were a Transcendent Goddess. However, this was from another world, so he didn't know if they also followed that kind of rule in naming their products.
Next was the Fixed Large-scale Teleportation Module. This was one he was most familiar with because every major country had one or two of these. It served as a central hub for all teleportation in and out of the country, which was the equivalent of airports when people still used airplanes to travel all around the world–which, by the way, seemed to be very boring. You would travel for hours on end with no internet and stuffy seats. Thank the Supremes for inventing the teleportation gates.
It was regrettable that it only had three items for now, but it seemed like if he leveled up the Merchant minion more, it would eventually give him full control of what kinds of items he could buy without any restrictions.
He picked the 5 star cultivation technique and this window popped up;
[Cost: 1,000,000 Credits]
[Cost: equivalent barter]
[Purchase: Y/N]
Good news, he finally knew what the Credits in his inventory was for. Bad news, it looked like there was another thing he had to hoard and collect. One million credits for one technique? He only had 2100 Credits as of now, how long would he have to save if he wanted to buy that one technique.
Looks like the system won again. It successfully tempted Patty to do more missions and earn more rewards. First, he had to get more Minion Growth Crystals, then he found out how overpowered Yi Power was, then now, he also had to get more Credits to buy stuff in the market. It was quite frustrating having all these wonderful things in front of him but never having enough money to buy them.
But maybe he didn't have to pay all that money. There was another way to pay for the item, which was through equivalent barter. This meant that he would have to exchange an item that had a similar value to the one he was buying. But who was the judge? Who's to say that the item he was giving was the same value as the one he was buying? Was it the system or the minion?
Patty took out all kinds of utensils from his kitchen: a knife, a spoon, and even his functioning blender. But every one of them wasn't enough to barter.
[Transaction failed. The item has insufficient value.]
[Transaction failed. The item has insufficient value.]
[Transaction failed. The item has insufficient value.]
He even tried physical paper money, Chain, which was the official currency of their country. He took out all of his money, 10,000 Chains, which he won in the bet with the Arcade owner. But even that wasn't enough.
[Transaction failed. The item has insufficient value.]
Since every single one of these items were too expensive for him right now, Patty had no choice but to ignore them for now. The items from this market may be high value, but for Patty, he had no immediate need for them right now. He wasn't going to cultivate his body, so the cultivation technique was useless. His face wasn't going to be shown on every screen all over the world, so he had no need for beauty products. The teleportation module was something he could use, but he didn't know how to build one of those.
It would be better to gather more Credits and wait until the market had something that he truly needed.
[Same-world market]
[Calibrating…searching for items…]
It looked like Interdimensional Merchant was having a bit of trouble finding items it could buy and sell.
[Inventory found]
[Due to the low level and class of the Interdimensional Merchant, he is limited to only showing low level items]
He was afraid that the system would only show a few items just like in the otherworld market, but thankfully, it seemed that he had an unlimited amount of items he could buy–the only caveat being that they were low quality items. Patty was fine with that for now.
[Same-world Market]
• Power
• Money
• Fame
Huh. That was weird. These were the three routes that Dreamers choose in their journey to fulfill their dream. They could either go the power route, meaning they cultivate their physical body to the point of physically destroying all their obstacles. They could go with the Money route, meaning they would gather all the money they could and just buy their way into the top. They could also gain Fame and use that to have everyone worship you and elect you to the top of the world.
However, people would only choose their route by acquiring a Teqx that corresponded to their chosen route. People who chose Power needed a Red Teqx, those who wanted the Money route chose Yellow Teqx, and Fame needed a Blue Teqx.
Why was the same-world market similar to that? Could it be? With anticipation and curiosity, Patty chose the Power box.
[Power]
• F-class Ample Abs Teqx
• F-class Arms of Aluminum Teqx
• F-class Aromatic Breath Teqx
…
And the list went on. He couldn't believe it. HE CAN BUY TEQX?!?!
