School had resumed and the normal activities had started as if nothing had happened. Lucy walked to class alone. Iris said she wasn't coming that she had somethings to deal with.
She sat on her seat and scanned the room with her eyes in search for Joseph. After that night, she hadn't spoken to him and anytime she called, he didn't answer the phone. He wasn't in class and that spoilt her mood. She had wanted to speak to him to tell him that she missed him.
"We all know the break was too long so I expect you all wrote your assignments", the teacher said. Lucy looked up at him, she didn't look when he came in or what he had said.
The class groaned, some complaining. Just then, Joseph walked him with his bag strapped at his back."you're late", the teacher said and he gave a boyish smile.
"Sorry", he said and went to his seat. He didn't take one look at the back where Lucy sat and that pained her in a way.
Well, he might be having a bad day.
After class, she waited for everyone to leave before she left. Joseph was arranging his books. She walked to him smiling. "Hey , Joseph", she said and he looked at her as if that was the first time he was seeing her.
"Oh hi", he said making her feel awkward.
"How have you been? Tried calling but you weren't picking my calls", she said and he hissed. "I was quite busy, Lucy". His voice sounded as if he were irritated by her presence.
"After that night... You left the next morning, I... I thought something happened ", she said feeling quite weak.
What kind of aura was he exuding now.
"I just wanted to know... If something was wrong, you ... You stopped picking my calls, so..."
"Nothing happened, Lucy ", he said pushing her to walk away. "What do you mean nothing happened? You literally fu..."
"Nothing happened. You aren't the first, just mind your business and get to reading - " he said looking at her, " - at least that's what you do so well ", he said and left not wanting to hear another word from her.
It was as if her whole world had crashed down before her. He just treated her as nothing after all the fun they had had that night. How could he do this to her? Lucy sat on the chair and threw her books on the floor.
"He could have just called me stupid rather than saying those hurtful things", she said tears slowly forming in her eyes. She shut it and the tears ran down her cheeks.
School was over and she went straight home; iris's house, without thinking. He had used her just like he did with other girls.
Why did you fall for his charms you daughter of a bitch. She thought to herself.
She entered the kitchen just to see Iris having a cup of milk and cookies. She looked at her. "Why are you crying? Is it Joseph?" Iris asked as if she knew that already. At the mention of Joseph, she cried all the more.
"What did that jerk do to you?" She asked ready to finally break his neck. "It's nothing much", she said as Iris handed her a cup of milk. She took it and gulped it down.
She, Lucy told her what happened and Iris regretted missing school. "I'll kill him!" She said standing up to go out and remove his head from his neck.
"You don't have to, just let it go", she said and Iris stopped rolling her eyes.
"You know what?"
"What?" Lucy asked and she smiled. "Let's go out and cheer you up. Leave that good for nothing moron let's go have fun", she said dragging Lucy up . She stood up, though hesitant at first.
She's right. Screw him!
At least now she would no longer be enchanted by his charms.

Connor sat on his bed, he thought of that beast that attacked those butchers at the abbatoir. It hadn't made any move after that.
"It must really be clever ", he muttered sighing.
That was really strange. It attacked Nestle lake and went into hiding for ten years and just as he was about resigning his work, it came again. If he could just put a tracker to track its whereabouts.
He sighed and decided he should at least go for a walk, he deserved some fresh air after all these stress and thinking.
Maybe something might just show up.

Iris walked home alone. This was going to be a long night. After she and Lucy went to cool off, she had said something had come up and Lucy should head back home when it was eight o'clock. She sighed checking the time, ten o'clock. She brought out a cigarette and lit it putting it at the tip of her mouth. She sucked it in and puffed it.
There was a lot on her mind. For three weeks now, Jacob hadn't called and she didn't know where Cordelia was at the moment, but she knew she wasn't in California which was a relief.
She sighed as she saw two people kissing.
Humans. Very pathetic beings.
If only they knew the war that was coming. She could feel it , but it was just a feeling, so she brushed it off. She turned to see those humans still kissing and she smiled. The woman was lucky... So lucky.
She remembered what Lucy had said to her, how she teased her about being a virgin for five hundred years and counting.
"Love is another word for weakness", she muttered.
Just then she had a gun shot. She stopped to look at what was happening. A huge man was dragging an old lady's bag and when she wouldn't let him have the bag, he shot at her. The woman fell hitting her head hard on the ground. "Jesus" she could hear the old lady whisper.
Iris watched as the blood flowed from the woman's side. She was going to die. " I need to leave", she muttered, but it was too late. The curse had taken over , her sin was turning white and hairy and her eyes blood red. She tried so hard to control herself. She looked at the man still standing there and smirked evily lunging at him.
The huge man looked at the beast as all the hairs on his body stood, he made for it. He was going to die, but at least he should try. Iris lunged forward catching him and devouring him . She looked around, no one was there so she made to run.
Connor had heard the noise and followed it , his gun in his hands. Then he saw what he had wanted to see. A fiery beast devouring a man. The beast looked around and suddenly ran away. He followed it until he reached a place, he couldn't find it anymore.
Fuck!
Iris had turned back into a human and was facing the woman, she was naked but had to save her. She kept fighting that feeling of turning into the monster because of the blood . She knelt before the woman and touched her side. A bright light shown from her hand, she was healing her.
Connor saw the light and came towards the direction of the light. He saw a lady kneeling before someone and he pointed his gun at her. Just as he was about to see her face. She fled. He didn't see her again.
He called for back up. This was going to be a long night... .
