Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

Ten years ago

It looked like it was about to rain, even though it had just rained. Wounded people sat on their door post, some on the ground. The dead ones lay on the ground... Of course lifeless. This wasn't the first time this incident was happening but it was the first in Nestle lake that had ever occured and it was deadly, so deadly it attracted the police.

"How was this animal?" Asked the deputy of police, Connor.

"She had dark hair and her eyes were blue... Azure blue", the woman he had asked answered , her voice shaken. "Thank you", he said and looked at the artist who stood behind him. The artist drew the animal.

"Animal? Dark hair? Is there an animal like that with blue eyes?" He asked sort of confused.

"Just draw the eyes" DPO Connor said and the artist nodded. "Sure".

They moved to the next person, he was seriously wounded but they had to ask. "Excuse me sir, could you please describe the animal that did all these?"

"She...she had dark hair and green eyes... Emerald green ", he said.

The artist cleaned a part and painted it green.

"She had dark hair and purple eyes" the artist cleaned another part and coloured it. "it was black"

Clean. Colour.

"It was hazel". Clean. Colour.

"She had dark hair and and blood red eyes", another said. Clean. Colour.

"Brown" " Gray" "yellow "

"It was the dullest blue ever seen"...

After interrogating the people in the small town , Connor turned to the artist. "Whatcha got?" He asked. The artist clicked his tongue and showed him the drawing. The eyes had different fragments of different colours.

"Is this some kind of joke?"

"At least we know the animal is a she and has dark hair", the artist said still doubtful. As they were about leaving, a little girl came to them.

"Sir... DPO ", she said her voice almost in a whisper and she was ashen with fear. Her frail body shook as if she had caught a cold which was partly true... But the main reason wasn't because of the rain or the cold after all she was covered with a thin jacket.

"What is it? How can I help you?" Connor asked squatting to reach her height.

"The animal... It's human...she had no eyes", the little girl said and began weeping. The artist but his lips and smiled. He cleaned a part but didn't colour this time.

"What's your name?" Connor asked.

"Lucy" the little girl said cleaning her tears.

"Lucy, are you sure of what you saw? Do you mean what you're saying?"

The thought of a human with different eye colour was unbelievable talk more of one without an eye colour... An eye void of it's colour.

"Yes... It hurt my arm, I'll show you" she said showing them her arm where it but her, but nothing was there.

"Where is it?"

"I... I don't know. It was here .You have to believe me, DPO", she said weeping once more. She was confused.

"Lucy, go and have some rest. Everything would be fine ", Connor said but the girl stood there.

"I really saw her" she said her tears rolling down her face . "You don't believe me !" She said and ran away.

Connor looked at the artist. "Show me "

The artist raised the drawing for him to see.

"I don't believe it", he said. "It can't be human, it doesn't exist"

"But we know this monster had dark hair ", the artist said and shook his head.

In a distance something was running and it tripped and fell. "I'm safe here" it said breathing heavily.

"Cordelia won't find me here in California... If she does, I'll create a slave for myself just like other times" it said trying to reassure itself, but the feeling that when the so called Cordelia, that is chasing her finds her even her slave wouldn't be able to save her lingered through her mind, but she pushed the thought away.

"I'm safe in California "...
