"Hey," Ace gave her a big smile. "It's getting late and I need to return home, alright? How about we see each other another time?" He asked.
Dreams face fell. "But you promised we'd talk when you bring mummy home," she muttered.
"Dream, baby, it's late, alright? Let's just go in, so I can tuck you into my bed. Yeah, you heard right, you'll be sleeping in mummy's bed tonight. Cool, yeah?" Fay asked.
"I guess. I just wish daddy could say too," she said at the verge of tears.
Fay's heart twisted painfully. She hated to see her daughter hurt. It would have been way better if she had never found out about Ace.
How was she supposed to keep them apart if it was just day one, and they already had a bond?
"Can I hold her?" She heard Ace ask.
She didn't want to let go. She couldn't let go. It was still too painful to do that. But she didn't have a choice. Her babys lips were already quivering. Any second now, she'd burst into tears.
