She shifted her gaze from him, and adjusted herself on the chair.
"Don't be silly, Ace," she said, after clearing her throat.
The corner of his lips twitched into a wry smile, as he watched her look everywhere but at him.
She was standing on her decision to hate him. He could respect that. After all, he did have a lot of things to understand.
When that understanding came, and it happened that he had been wrong all this while, he would have a lot of apology to give.
Some part of him prayed he was wrong. The truth was that he missed Fay. Seeing her again after so many years, made his delusion disappear.

His phone rang again, breaking the tension in the room.
"Reign," he thought when his eyes went to his screen.
He wanted to ignore it, but when he remembered her father's condition, he had no other choice but to answer the call.
