Fay was seated in her office, when her personal assistant came in.
"Can I help you?" She asked, without looking up from her computer screen.
"Ma'am, there's someone here to see you," she replied.
"Do they have an appointment?"
"No ma'am," she replied.
"Then why do I need to see them?"
"They say it's really important."
She sighed, and lifted her head from the screen.
"Who are they?"
"The matriarch of the Atticus family."
Fay closed her eyes for a few seconds. She didn't want to deal with the Atticus family today of all days.
She had so much on her plate, she would much rather keep thoughts of them at bay.
But she remembered clearly what Ace had said the other night, and it made her curious.
"Send her in."
She bowed her head, and turned towards the door.
When the door opened again, she knew who to expect even before she heard the beating cane.
