"So– Sophie?" Fay stuttered.
In a twinkle, Sophie dashed towards her, and pushed herself in for a hug.
Fay, who was still startled by her appearance, relaxed her body enough to return her hug.
"Oh my God, you still smell so good!" Sophie said, as they separated. "You look so beautiful and sophisticated, Fay!'
Fay didn't know how to respond. She loved that kid with all her heart, but she was still a part of the Atticus.
Her heart was torn. Whether to return the genuine affection, or just keep it moving.
A decision happened when the doors of the restaurant opened, and someone walked in.
"Good thing you're all here, girls. Mum asked me to—-" Ace's voice faded into silence when Fay suddenly turned, and their eyes met.
All thoughts of that morning were wiped off when he saw her face.
She was supposed to look exhausted from spending the day at work. Yet, she managed to still appear breathtaking.
