Chapter 236 - Chapter 236: Take Care

After Snorlax followed Rex into the newly built cabin, it scratched its head in confusion and began to look around. It felt that the place was quite nice, at least free from the wind and sun.

Snorlax wasn't particularly fond of sleeping outdoors; it was just that in the wild, this was the only condition available. Thus, Snorlax happily nodded at Rex and found a comfortable spot to lie down.

Before long, Snorlax was already snoring, a smile still lingering at the corner of its mouth, as if it was dreaming sweet dreams.

Seeing this, Rex shook his head helplessly but felt relieved that Snorlax was willing to settle in and was content with the arrangement.

After settling Snorlax and the Combee, Rex went to the pasture area. This area was relatively close to the terraced garden and had been influenced by it, with many flowers growing among the pasture.

Fortunately, the pasture's vitality was strong, so it was hard for the flowers to compete with the grass for nutrients. Additionally, the Mareep also consumed some of the flowers. As long as Shaymin didn't use its abilities, the pasture should recover in time.

At this moment, Flaaffy was playing with the Mareep. Apart from daily training, it spent its time with its flock, taking care of them. This was something it enjoyed the most.

Although Flaaffy worked hard to improve its strength to protect its companions, it had a gentle personality and enjoyed playing with the Mareep and basking in the sun.

When Flaaffy saw Rex, it happily trotted over. It missed Rex a bit while he was away.

"Flaaffy, have you been training well these days?" Rex asked as he patted Flaaffy's belly.

Flaaffy quickly nodded, showing it had been working hard. It knew Rex's personality well; if Rex found out it hadn't trained properly, it wouldn't be able to play happily for a while.

Though Rex was a bit skeptical about whether Flaaffy had been training regularly, he didn't press the issue since he wasn't there to check on that.

"This is for you. It will enhance the power of your Electric-type moves," Rex said, handing the Magnet, an item he had unexpectedly obtained from Sinnoh, to Flaaffy.

Flaaffy happily absorbed the Magnet into its body. Once fully integrated, it felt its control over the electrical currents within its body had greatly improved.

Soon, a powerful electric current surged from Flaaffy, forming a lightning dragon that roared off into the distance.

Flaaffy clearly sensed that its Thunderbolt move was much stronger and released a few more Electric-type moves, finding their power enhanced as well.

The excited Flaaffy leaped towards Rex, clearly pleased with the gift from its trainer.

However, Flaaffy forgot about the static electricity in its fur. As soon as it touched Rex, Rex felt a tingle, with sparks crackling on his clothes and his hair standing on end.

"I'm paralyzed! I'm paralyzed!" Rex stammered.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Flaaffy quickly jumped off Rex and looked at him with a pitiful expression, noticing Rex was paralyzed.

After Rex recovered from the paralysis, he looked at Flaaffy and retracted his reproachful words, understanding that Flaaffy was just caught up in its excitement and forgot about its own electrical nature.

"Alright, I know you didn't mean to. Just be careful in the future!" Rex said to Flaaffy.

Flaaffy nodded obediently, acknowledging that it had not acted intentionally.

Meanwhile, the Mareep and the nearby Miltank also gathered around. However, the Miltank instinctively kept a distance from the Mareep, clearly intimidated by their static electricity.

Both the Miltank and Mareep were in good spirits, indicating that Yuli and the others had taken good care of them, which was exactly what Rex wanted to see.

After spending the evening with the Pokémon in the pasture, Rex returned to the cabin with them.

After sending the Mareep and Miltank back to their cabin, Rex returned home, where Yuli and the others had finished preparing dinner and were watching TV in the living room.

In the following days, Rex stayed at the farm, organizing the flowers that had grown due to Shaymin's influence.

After tidying up, the once-wild flowers were now much more organized. Rex also created a few paths for walking through, as walking directly on the flowers felt like it would damage the picturesque scene.

Yuli and the others also frequently visited the terraced garden, but aside from finding that the Gracidea flowers were growing better, they were unable to attract Shaymin's appearance.

Although they were a bit disappointed, they soon came to terms with it. After all, Shaymin was a legendary mythical Pokémon, and it wasn't easy to see it.

In fact, Shaymin had noticed them when they visited the terraced garden, but instead of appearing, Shaymin chose to observe them from hiding.

Shaymin had a good impression of Yuli because it could tell that the girl genuinely cared for the garden.

However, since Yuli didn't call out loudly for Shaymin to appear like Rex did, Shaymin was content to stay hidden and observe from the flowers.

Notably, the four Combee eggs hatched on the third day after Rex returned. Due to the nature of Combee, they started as larvae and needed to complete their larval stage before becoming true Combee.

To help them grow faster through their larval stage, Rex fed them the remaining Honey, knowing that Vespiquen also used Honey to feed Combee larvae.

Fortunately, the larvae didn't eat much, so the remaining Honey was more than enough to grow them.

Additionally, the Combee had already started building nests and collecting nectar. Although it had only been a few days, they had already produced some Honey.

However, the Combee prioritized building their hive over collecting nectar. Only once their hive was nearly finished did they focus on making Honey.

Rex didn't interfere too much, respecting the Combee's natural behavior despite his desire for them to produce more Honey.

Rex also took time to visit the small forest where Machoke lived. This area was where Machoke and Heracross resided, but recently, Ursaring, Exeggutor, and Steenee had also come to the area.

They were mainly receiving training from Machoke, though Heracross also provided some guidance in its spare time, which significantly improved the strength of Ursaring and the others.

However, after the initial boost in strength from their evolution, their growth had slowed. Nevertheless, Ursaring and the others did not slack off and continued to work hard on their abilities.
