Rex didn't spend too long in the orchard. After a brief inspection and confirming there were no major issues, he returned to the house.
Overall, the condition of Rex Farm was quite good after the recent wild Pokémon disturbance. There were no significant losses, indicating that the Swellow group had defended the area well.
The terraced garden and rare Berry trees were an unexpected bonus. Celebi's power had an astonishing effect on these plants. However, Rex knew Celebi wouldn't stay at Rex Farm for long, so future planting efforts would rely on their own hard work.
By the time Rex returned to the house, it was already dark. Yuli and the others had prepared dinner. Celebi, curious about the feast, was used to eating wild Berries, so this new experience was quite intriguing for it.
Rex didn't make Celebi wait long. He invited it to join the meal. Celebi, already using its telekinesis to bring some food closer, took a bite and began to chew carefully. From Celebi's satisfied expression, Rex knew it enjoyed the meal.
"By the way, Yuli, has anything happened to Grandma Nieno and the others these past few days?" Rex asked after swallowing his food.
The wild Pokémon disturbance had impacted Fallarbor Town significantly, and the orphanage was located near the edge of the town, making it susceptible to wild Pokémon visits.
"Don't worry, Boss. I just spoke with Grandma Nieno on the phone today, and they're all fine," Yuli responded with a smile.
"That's good. If you need any help, just let me know."
Satisfied that the orphanage was safe, Rex didn't dwell on it further.
After a pleasant dinner, they settled in the living room to watch TV. Since buying the TV, Yuli and the others had made it a routine to watch a drama for a couple of hours every evening.
Although Rex felt a bit out of place watching the Pokémon-themed romance dramas, he didn't show it. He usually joined them for a while before making an excuse to leave.
The next day, Rex's first task was to have Swellow take him to check the situation on the west side of Jade Moon Lake. After confirming that most wild Pokémon had left, he was relieved.
However, some Pokémon seemed to prefer the environment on the west side of Jade Moon Lake and were setting up to stay long-term.
Among them were a small pack of Mightyena, led by two Mightyena with a few Poochyena, suggesting a family unit. There was also a group of Lotads, with about a dozen Lotads indicating they planned to settle in Jade Moon Lake.
Additionally, several Grass-type Pokémon stayed, as they needed minimal food and thrived with plenty of sunlight and water.
In the lake, Gyarados and Milotic were training, but their evolved forms caused much more disturbance than before, shaking the lake with their movements.
Rex had to impose some restrictions to prevent them from disturbing other Pokémon in the lake. Gyarados and Milotic, aware of Rex's concerns, contemplated the issue. They, having come from lower-tier Pokémon backgrounds, understood the difficulties of such lives and decided to find a quieter place for training.
Rex also assigned them a task: to bring Lapras during their training. Since Gyarados and Milotic's strength had surpassed Lapras, their supervision would help Lapras improve its abilities.
When Rex returned to the farm, he found Celebi playing with Combusken, with the latter mainly chasing Celebi while the others, like Exeggutor and Bounsweet, followed behind.
Upon seeing Rex, the Pokémon rushed over. Teddiursa was the first to tackle him, beginning a vigorous face-washing routine with its tail wagging furiously. Rex hugged Teddiursa, calming it with a playful head-rub.
Carbink and Bounsweet saw their leader subdued and attempted to rescue it but were no match for Rex's affectionate play and soon joined in.
Celebi, having paused its chase with Combusken, watched the heartwarming scene with interest. It sensed Rex's affection for his Pokémon and the comforting aura surrounding him, which was why Celebi had agreed to stay with Rex.
Several days of this relaxed lifestyle passed quickly. The Ever Grande Conference was nearing its end, with Tobias emerging as the champion, while Ash made it to the top 8, achieving a top 16 finish due to missing some matches.
After spending a few days at Rex Farm, Celebi decided it was time to leave. Despite having a great time, Celebi felt the outside world was where it truly belonged.
"Are you leaving, Celebi?" Rex guessed from Celebi's demeanor.
Rex had entertained the thought of capturing Celebi, though he knew it was beyond his capabilities. Celebi was in an invincible position; it could traverse time and space when faced with danger, making it impossible to keep.
Besides, Rex had no grand ambitions of world domination; he just wanted to be a simple farm owner.
After bidding farewell, Celebi emitted a dazzling light, and once it faded, Celebi had vanished.
Rex understood Celebi used its powers to move to another time or place, possibly the past or the future.
After confirming Celebi's departure, Rex shared Celebi's true identity with Yuli and the others. They were stunned to learn that the cute little onion-like Pokémon was a legendary mythical creature. However, since they had become friends with Celebi, they quickly recovered from the shock and went about their business.
