Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 Dinner

Regarding the Taillow's refusal to allow their eggs to be taken, Rex couldn't really blame them. After all, the Taillows had their own thoughts.

If it weren't for Swellow being present, Rex doubted he could have taken the eggs from them. After all, he hadn't spent much time with these Taillow and didn't understand them well.

"Let me handle this matter. By the way, where are the Polteageist I teleported here now?" Rex asked Yuli.

"The Polteageist are also living in the orchard, finding fallen berries every day. I originally wanted to provide them with berries, but it seems they prefer to find their own. However, Yui says they seem quite satisfied with their current life." Yuli said somewhat helplessly.

"Never mind, let them be. We'll observe and see. You guys carry on, I'll go put away the Miltank Pokémon eggs." Rex said, heading upstairs to his room. He took out the Miltank Pokémon eggs from his backpack; they were already in the incubator. In about 5 or 6 days, they should hatch.

This world's technology was worth mentioning. In natural conditions, it would take about 3 months for Pokémon eggs to hatch. And if the external temperature was too high or too low, it would take even longer.

However, by placing the eggs in an incubator with a certain amount of nutrients, it only took about a week to hatch Pokémon eggs.

Because the incubator could simulate the best temperature and environment for the eggs and, with the addition of a certain amount of nutrients, could accelerate their growth.

When Rex obtained the Miltank Pokémon eggs, he had already placed them in the incubator. It had been over two days now, and during this time, he had used his abilities to provide life energy to the eggs. He believed that the Miltank Pokémon hatched this way would have excellent potential.

After completing these tasks, Rex lay on his big bed. The comfortable feeling made him stretch lazily. Only returning to his farm could truly relax him.

Later, lying on the bed, Rex began to consider the future development of his farm.

First, the orchard could continue to expand; there was still plenty of land. The problem of watering could be solved by recruiting some Poliwags from the nearby lake.

Second, the pasture also needed to expand to meet the dietary needs of the Miltank after hatching and prepare for the expansion of the Mareep population.

Also, he needed to challenge the seven gyms within the next six months. This required him to frequently go out during this time, but with Swellow carrying him, it wouldn't take too long on the road.

However, to challenge the Ever Grande Conference, he also needed to further enhance his strength. Right now, he was satisfied only with Swellow and Heracross.

So, he needed to start a new round of training for his Pokémon to participate in the Ever Grande Conference; otherwise, even if he participated, his ranking might not be good.

The more Rex thought about it, the more overwhelmed he felt. He realized that he had a lot to do in the next six months. He really wanted to slack off, but that was just wishful thinking.

Perhaps thinking too much led Rex to unknowingly fall asleep.

"Boss, it's dinner time!"

In his drowsiness, Rex heard someone speaking. He opened his somewhat blurry eyes, looked around, and realized he was at home, instantly feeling relaxed again.

"How did I fall asleep?"

Rex looked at the sky, which had already turned completely dark, murmuring to himself.

"Boss, can you hear me?"

"I'll be right down!" Rex heard the caller was Akiko, so he replied to her.

"Brother, you're back. Did you bring me a gift?" Rex went downstairs and found that both Yuli and Yuta had returned. Seeing him come down, Akiko immediately surrounded him, her little face showing an expectant look.

"Akiko, don't be rude. The boss didn't go out to play this time." Yuli intervened, coming over with a plate of dishes.

"Ha ha, Akiko, this trip was indeed too hasty. I forgot to bring souvenirs for you guys. But I promise to bring you gifts next time." Rex smiled and said to everyone.

"Well, you must remember next time!" Akiko said somewhat disappointedly to Rex.

"Sure, I will."

Rex lifted Akiko up, patted her head, and said.

"Let's all sit down; dinner is ready!" Yuli said to everyone.

"Yuli, your cooking skills are as good as ever," Rex praised Tedara Yuli after dinner.

Swellow, who was sitting next to him, also nodded in agreement.

"I and Yui made this meal together." Tedara Yuli smiled and said.

"Oh, then I can only say Yui, you have the potential to surpass Yuli. Keep it up!" Rex turned to Takamoto Yui and said.

"Boss, you're too flattering. I'm just assisting Sister Yuli. There's still a lot I need to learn." Yui blushed at Rex's praise and quickly explained.

"Oh, by the way, Yuta, have you gained the approval of the Taillow now?" Rex turned to Yuta Mizuno, who seemed a bit troubled.

"Not yet. I've been trying hard to befriend them, but still, none of the Taillows are willing to become my starter Pokémon. Boss, maybe I just don't have the potential to be a Pokémon Trainer!" Yuta was indeed affected by his recent experiences. After finishing his farm chores every day, he would go to the orchard to interact with the Taillows, helping them tidy up their nests and striving to gain their approval.

Unfortunately, until now, no Taillows has been willing to become his partner, which has left him very frustrated.

"Are you thinking of giving up your dream of becoming a Pokémon Trainer now?" Rex didn't comfort him but spoke directly.

"I won't give up. I believe that as long as I continue to work hard, I can definitely move the Taillows," Yuta said firmly, without hesitation.

"That's good. As long as you haven't given up in your heart and always move towards your dream, even if there are temporary setbacks, they will soon pass," Rex said to Yuta.

This was a test from Rex to Yuta. If he gave up his dream of becoming a Trainer just because he couldn't gain the approval of the Taillow, Rex wouldn't invest in him anymore. After all, his money didn't come easily, and it took quite a lot of resources to train a Trainer. If Yuta Mizuno couldn't make it, Rex wouldn't bother with him anymore!

"I will. I will continue to befriend the Taillow until one of them recognizes me," Yuta said, rekindling his spirit after hearing Rex's words.

"That won't be necessary. Tomorrow, I'll get you and Yui each a Taillow egg, and then you can take care of them." Rex said with a smile.

"But just now, you told me not to give up and keep trying." Yuta Mizuno looked at Rex with a resentful expression.

"I just told you not to give up easily, but I didn't say I wouldn't give you a starter Pokémon. I've said before that if you can't gain the approval of the Taillow, I'll give each of you a Taillow egg," Rex explained.

"Haha, Yuta's reaction just now was so funny." Akiko, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Because of her laughter, everyone else laughed too, and suddenly, the room was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

As the target of teasing, Yuta suddenly felt that he was in a difficult situation. Everyone was making fun of him.

"Okay, I was just testing your determination to become a Pokémon Trainer. If you had chosen to give up directly, then I wouldn't recommend you to pursue the path of a Trainer. After all, after becoming a Trainer, you may encounter even more difficult situations than this. Are you going to give up every time?" Rex said seriously to Yuta.

Although Rex and Yuta were the same age, everyone present felt that Rex was teaching Yuta in the posture of an elder, and they didn't feel uncomfortable about it.

"I understand now. Thank you, Boss!" Yuta finally understood Rex's good intentions and expressed his gratitude.
