Chapter 3 past is gone pt. 2
Training arc
"What do you mean you're leaving when?" my uncle cried out so loud that the surrounding people gave us questioning looks.
As if it wasn't enough that they had recognized me when entered the coffee shop.
I let out a small groan. I hate the attention.
Yuuto will be leaving tomorrow morning "Someone should come and pick me up," I said nonchalantly while I took a sip of my black coffee and examined the interior of the cosy little shop.
The walls were built out of brick and on the ceiling hung fluorescent lights.
Most of the people who occupied the round tables and enclosed books attended the will be joining the E Y E Foundation secret society and kept staring at Yuuto when he wasn't looking, probably thinking he was some sort of celebrity because of all the attention he received.
Yuuto was brought the book from his musing state when Souta sprung out of his chair making it fall over to the group with a loud thud.
"Tomorrow! What the hell Yuuto, you never tell me about this!" the whole shop now had our fullest attention and the whispers increased. Yuuto placed the cup down slowly.
This was it, we had officially caused a scene.
Yuuto probably shouldn't have suggested coming to the coffee shop, but how was he supposed to know he would be like this?
"Sit down uncle, it's not a big deal" Yuuto started saying but he cut him off.
"Not a big deal?... " he scoffed at me.
Open wide as Yuuto took another sip of his coffee. As he placed his cup back down on the dark wooden table Souta grabbed Yuuto hand and pulled him across the coffee shop to the nearest exit.
Yuuto let him do it, not wanting to risk gaining more attention from the customers who were staring at us intently.
The bell on the door rang as Souta rushed outside opened the door to this experienced car and pointed inside.
"Get in," he said his voice expressionless. Yuuto quietly complied and ducked his head so Yuuto wouldn't end up with a bruise.
Souta slammed the door shut and walked to the driver's seat.
Yuuto stayed quiet as he started driving.
"Where are we going?" Yuuto asked him after five minutes of complete silence.
Yuuto looked at Souta who was gripping his steering wheel so hard it made his knuckles turn white.
"What were you thinking accepting an offer like that?" he mumbled looking straight ahead.
"This might be my only chance to catch Ack.." Yuuto replied, "You know how long I've waited for this, I will not pass up this opportunity to learn more about his next moves."
Yuuto turned his head to the windows and stared at the blurry light of the tunnel we were passing through.
"But they are Ack Yuuto how do you know they won't hurt you or worse they could... They could kill you. What then!? Souta slammed his hand on the steering wheel with anger.
Steering wheel with anger.
This was getting all too much.
"Who do you think l am?" Yuuto replied bitterly he could see him visibly tense. Silence stretched around us. Yuuto glanced over in his direction and immediately felt horrible.
His face held so much regret.
Yuuto placed his hand on top of Souta and gripped it tightly "I can protect myself from some weak Ack-eaten monsters, they are not as hard to kill as the ones who eat human flesh and they are nothing compared to types dead. I would never make you or my uncle worry for my safety." Yuuto told him reassuringly.
He turned his head to look at Yuuto, parted his lips just a bit and quickly looked back to the road.
He rodded apprehensively to himself as he slipped his hand from under mine and placed it so that he was holding YYuuto'shand.
"What would I do once I met a white puppet? Question him? Torture him? Kill him an instance?" All those questions are clouding Yuuto's mind leaving no room for thought.
Souta looks over in my direction sensing Yuuto's unease.
He squeezed Yuuto's hand to assure me and Yuuto smiled in return. Yuuto let his mind rest and directed his attention towards the bouquet that lay on the backs of the car.
"Those... They're for your parents" Yuuto looked at him surprised and Slightly confused.
"What do you mean?" Yuuto asked looking back at the flowers that emitted a sweet fragrance, making me wonder how Yuuto hadn't noticed then when we drove to the coffee shop earlier today.
"Since Tuesday was... You know. I thought it would be nice to go and pay our respects. Especially since I was busy and couldn't take you on the day. The flowers are for them to put on their graves."
Souta explained glancing Yuuto way finished.
How thoughtful of him. Souta is always there for me, it will be hard to leave him behind. Once he goes away.
But this is what Yuuto have been dreaming of for far too long. "Speaking of which, we're here." My uncle said as he parked the car near the entrance of the cemetery.
He picked up the flowers from the back seat and handed them to Yuuto... "You can give this to them, I stay in the car until you finish take as long as you need."
Yuuto nodded smiling at how curing he was.
Yuuto opened the door and stepped out of the car and just as he was about to close the door he peeked back inside.
"Souta?.. " Yuuto called out to mine and he looked at me.
"Hm?" Souta replied curiously.
"I'm lucky to have you," Souta said smiling. He smiled back, but there was a hint of something else that I couldn't quite pinpoint behind that smile of his.
Maybe it's just my imagination.
Gently shutting the door, I began to head toward the entrance of the cemetery. Yuuto felt slightly nervous as he approached the gated path that would lead him to his parents.
Yuuto made it toward the gate placed my hand on the cold metal handle and pushed it open.
The sound of screeching metal cut through the air and Yuuto made his way toward his parent's graves.
He passed rows upon rows of tombstones, reading out the dates on which they deed.
Most were of this century, but some dated back to the 12:00s. As Yuuto read out the names of these people he couldn't help but wonder what their story was.
Who are they? Where were they from? We're they story was... Was
