Chapter 6 - MADNESS IN SPACE

As I open my eyes, there's a loud ring. The light isn't as bright but something feels different; I could feel it almost immediately, it felt familiar, like something lost that was found. The room was dimly lit so I couldn't see much but what my eyes saw was different. I moved my hands around because for some weird reason it felt as though I couldn't lift myself up. I looked down and I was far from the ground, but then, almost like some sort of self-realization, I looked back at my skin.

"WHITE! WHITE? Am I back!? Am I back!? I AM BACK", I screamed out loud. I notice that my voice is a man's voice, I jumped down excitedly, mimicking the mannerisms of a teenage girl, just jumping and touching all of me, not really paying attention to my environment. I am me again, still a wimp but a male wimp!!!!! But then I suddenly stopped celebrating. If I am me then what happened to Malaika? We had an accident; does that mean she's dead?! I felt a pang of hurt in my chest. I don't even like that wimpy girly girl, but why does it hurt? Why am I hurt?

Immediately another thought comes crashing into my thoughts. Did I enter some other person's body or is this actually mine?

I finally notice the room. What in the futuristic movie is going on here?I look around and start to see very unbelievable things. I probably am dreaming or I am in a movie set because this cannot be real. The room gives off a sleek and minimalist aesthetic. There's something about the technology in this room that feels unreal. The walls are made of polished metal alloy, adorned with intricate circuitry patterns that glow softly with bioluminescent light. And as I become more aware of my current environment, I notice the air is crisp and sterile, almost like there's this static temperature at which it is maintained. The temperature feels very abnormal, almost like it was artificially made or controlled, not natural. The furniture in the room is seamlessly integrated into the architecture, with sleek metallic surfaces and geometric shapes.

A multifunctional workstation occupies one corner, equipped with holographic displays and everything I never thought I'd be seeing in real life, unless maybe I am in a dream because think about it, how am I in my body? I am fucking dead. It's been 15 whole years and boom suddenly I'm alive and I believe it, I'm such a dummy. But then again I don't think I've ever dreamt in 15 years. I mean that's the whole point of being in the shadows, not being in control, even in your own dreams. So why am I dreaming now?

I notice that along one wall, a large window offers a breathtaking view of the cosmos and I am totally taken aback. That cannot be real, probably CGI or some graphics display that looks freaking real! What is real at this point? I really don't know. I notice distant stars twinkling against the velvet blackness of space. I press a button close to the window and automated shutters can be activated to provide privacy or shield the room from harsh solar radiation. All of this and this is not real! This is the most realistic dream I've ever been in.

In the center of the room, a cylindrical pod-like something. What is this? I touch it and feel some form of energy buzz through me and I quickly shift away from it. It feels like an electric shock, but at the same time, it gives a good after effect. I look at the pod again and I notice it is surrounded by a soft glow, emanating from embedded LED lights that pulse rhythmically almost like it's following a heartbeat pattern. The best way I can describe this is the machine used in the hospital for vital signs. This cannot be real! I run to the door and there's no handle. How the hell do I open this thing or at least wake up?! As I try banging the door, a voice system activates:

"Welcome to Robotron Zim, we've been awaiting you for a long time."

Who? Me? Are you saying this is real? I say all in my head, confused.

"Yes Zim, this is very much real. You are currently in Robotron, and this is currently the year 4040."

"How did you hear me?! And what the hell did you just say 4040? I must be shitting myself!" I say, and the next thing I see is pitch black. At this point, a banner should be placed on my forehead with the title "Mr. blackout".
