Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"Yes, the impatient, Kanzaki. What is your question?"

Did she seriously insult a student in front of the entire class? This teacher is dangerous. With one sentence, she could ruin my social reputation.

Kanzaki ignored the teacher's joke and seriously responded.

"Teacher, isn't giving 100,000 yen each month to a student a bit overboard? What's the catch?"

Ichinose butted in.

"Yes, I agree, that has to be impossible."

What was the need for her to say she agreed? What was gained from that? This girl really is annoying. However, because of her popularity, she is the future leader of our class, so I shouldn't have a bad relationship with her.

"Hmmm, I said there were 100,000 points in your ID now. When did I say there would be 100,000 each month?"

This school is weird. At times like these, I believe that this is probably the best school in Japan, however, from the teacher's actions, I would think this school is a joke. I mean these students are pretty smart, they got the teacher to reveal such a vital piece of information. Even I couldn't see through that immediately.

Immediately after hearing the teacher's words, Ichinose and Kanzaki, along with other students, began bombarding the teacher with questions.

"How do we know how many points each month?"

"What causes are points each month to change? Is it grades?"

"Why were we given 100,000 points initially? Is it easy to run out of points quickly?"

"What do you mean points can buy everything? Can you explain further? That statement is really vague."

At times like this, I can't tell if it's a renowned school or not. All the questions being asked are perfect. Some of these questions I wouldn't even come up with myself, but they're also asking like little kids all at the same time. Of course, she can't answer all your questions at once. Give her time.

The teacher remained calm under the bombardment of questions and waited until everyone was silent.

"Since everyone has so many questions, I'll answer them all with one statement."

Immediately, everyone's attention was drawn to her. If this one statement could answer all these questions, it would surely be a vital piece of information. I was even curious: How could all those different questions be answered with just one statement?

"Think about it yourselves."

"..."

Is she really a teacher? Is this a prank? Where's the camera? What kind of teacher refuses to answer our questions? This is a joke. I seriously can't tell if this school is good or not. Its tuition is free, so I'm not losing anything by attending.

Ignoring the students' silence, the teacher started walking towards the door when she suddenly stopped. She talked. This time, her voice did not contain a hint of playfulness. It seemed like she was finally being serious.

About time, I knew she was joking around earlier.

"Dating is not allowed in school, but if you like someone, come and tell me, and I'll give you advice."

"..."

"hahaha"

This school is a fucking joke. How can this school have the title of the best school in Japan? Maybe we just got unlucky with our teacher? Although I have to admit, she definitely does fit with the sociable vibe of class B. After the teacher left, Ichinose immediately stood up and began speaking.

Oh, what is it now? Is she already trying to take control of class? You can have it, nobody cares.

"Hey guys, since we'll spend the next 3 school years together. We should introduce ourselves."

Self Introductions. The bane of my existence.

I was going last during the self-introductions on my first day of middle school. I got up to speak, but the bell rang as soon as my mouth opened. Everyone left, ignoring me. From that day on, I officially became "that weird guy." Since no one heard my self-introduction, they just addressed me by that for the rest of the year. I can't handle another 3 years of that shit.

"My name is Ichinose Honami. If you don't mind, you can call me by first name. I enjoy studying literature and eating sweets at cafes."

Wow, that was a perfect introduction. No stuttering or nervousness was shown, and she displayed her interest properly. It was expected from someone who broke the gender barrier between the classes within 20 minutes. It took almost a week for that to happen at my middle school.

After her, another boy who seemed popular and pretty athletic went. He would probably be the leader of all the boys in the class—beside me, of course. It seemed he also already had a crush on Ichinose. When she thanked him for his introduction, he blushed and looked away.

Do you really have to make it that obvious?

The best course of action for me right now would be to leave, as I won't be communicating with them throughout the year.

Shit, I'm the window seat, the farthest away from the door. I glanced at the backdoor, which was already open. I then waited until an attractive girl introduced herself, as she would most likely draw the attention of all the boys. A girl got up and introduced herself as Himeno Yuki. She was attractive enough.

She had long black hair tied in two ponytails with blue highlights, but she seemed annoyed at the self-introductions. Wasn't she one of the girls with Ichinose? I guess she doesn't care about anyone in the class besides her.

This is my chance. I picked up my backup and slowly walked towards the door. As I exited the classroom, I saw the boy in front of me, Kanzaki, glance at me, but he didn't say anything. Hah, another normal person like me, or maybe I'm abnormal. I don't even care at this point.

The girl, Himeno Yui, who was introducing herself, also noticed me, but I ignored her stare. She lost my attention the moment she decided to suck up to Ichinose with other girls.

Anyway, I must be special. I don't think anyone could have escaped that situation like me. Only 2 out of 39 people noticed me. Actually, it's usually like this: even when I'm walking on the sidewalk, most people don't notice me, so I'm bumped into quite often. Is this even a good thing? Yeah, it's definitely a superpower.

I exited the classroom and headed towards the teacher, who left a minute earlier. I saw the direction she went, so I just went there. Since the hallway was empty, I started running as if I didn't catch her here; I might not get another chance to have my questions answered for a while.

I also had to worry about getting to the entrance ceremony time. If I walked in late, everyone would probably insult me and whatnot. I was fine with the insults. However, I didn't like to bring unnecessary attention to myself. Finally, I saw the teacher walking towards a large room in a hallway.

Although Ichinose, Kanzaki, and the others asked some important questions, they didn't question anything about the sorting of the classes. I also had some private questions to ask, like how one could switch classes. Yeah, I'm seriously considering switching classes. The only thing holding me back is that pure soul, Kanzaki. I would feel bad leaving him in that classroom, but some things need to be done.

"Hoshinomiya sensei"

The teacher turned around and immediately started smiling.

"Oh dear student, did you already fall for me? Of course you did, I know my charm. You'll have to give me some time to consider. Of course, I am a bit older, but I assume you're fine with that."

"..."

Is this person qualified to teach at the so-called best school in Japan? She is clearly flirting with a student, even if she is doing so jokingly. Unknownly, my palms began to sweat, but I kept my cool. Can't have her knowing her charm is actually working on me, she'll only get more cocky.

"No, teacher, I have some questions."

"Hmmm, Why didn't you ask in class?"

Lying wouldn't help me much in this situation, so I frankly told her.

"There are some questions I didn't want the class to hear."
