Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The swirling wind swept across the place as the cloud had gathered for a heavy downpour giving signs of its wrath to the victims.

The dark was drawing near and people could be seen hurrying to take shelter away from the impending storm that would come upon them soon.

Jasmine struggled with a fellow that held her firmly with his grip.

She wondered why no one came to her aid all along? Could it be that she was invincible?

"Let go of me!" Jasmine kept on fighting for her release, while this masked fellow pulled her along.

She suddenly revealed her claws and directed it to his face that had a mask.

The fellow was fast enough to seize her hands before she could hurt him.

"Who are you?" She asked him, but he did not reply.

"Argh!" She yelled out of annoyance and picked up a fight.

His claws were like none she had ever seen, it was longer, darker than and curved than usual.

He was as fast as the wind. There is no doubt that she is no match for this fellow.

He dodged each of her punches and did not seem to be fighting back.

Her nemesis grabbed her by the neck and ordered her to stop.

"Who are you and what do you want?" She asked him the question.

"I am your savior" he replied her and let go of her neck.

"Are you insane ? You kidnapped me from my wedding, and now you claim it was saving? My father planned this right? I should have known he was going to do something creepy" her persistent complaints seemed to be pestering him.

"Just shut up!" He yelled as soon as he couldn't take it any longer. "Your father was going to kill you" he disclosed.

"That's insane. You suddenly showed up with a mask, kidnapped me and tell me my father is after my life. It looks like you are" she accused.

"If you will calm down and let me explain it in detail" he pleaded with her.

"Why don't you take off your mask first?" She ordered.

"Fine!" He retorted and then took off his mask.

"So it's you? I should have known?"

She slanted him a menacing glance, and he immediately looked away.

As her gaze landed on face, he could see as shock flashed through her features followed by a brief look of comprehension.

He was tall with a long dark hair and a strong jawline. And his lips were firmly drawn into a thin line that spoke of brutality. He looked far more dangerous than handsome.

His face was a perfect sculpture for a man's anatomy.

Her clumsy eyes went on to view his shirt that lacked proper closure.

Jasmine couldn't believe her eyes were actually floating with this fellow.

Derick and father have been enemies for a long time.

Being the illegitimate son of her grandfather. It hurt her and her father that Derick ruled the pack instead of hers.

It was because of him, her father left the pack and went to form a new home of his own.

There is no way Jasmine would be willing to listen to him. She had this squinted look at him.

"Look you are my mate now, so I must protect you" he went straight to the point after observing her rude stare.

She took his words for a joke and made a laugh immediately.

"You think this is a joke?" Derick yelled, while she took few steps back to the road and continued laughing at him.

With a blink of a moment he rushed her out of the way of a truck.

Like a snake gripping its prey, his hands clung around her tight. Forcing her head to rest on his stiff chest.

"I… I… thought it's not real?" She stated while she felt the warmth of his rocky chest.

"We might be invisible, but that doesn't mean we can't be hit" Derick replied her and then released her gently.

"Where are we?" She sounded scared suddenly.

"Singapore" he replied.

"No, no!" She yelled.

She was meant to be in New York for her wedding.

The wind was becoming tougher and the dark cloud even darker.

The clouds had begun to rumble, while lightning kept reflecting thereafter.

Steadily, a downpour began wetting the earth and anything its stroke could come upon.

Jasmine sat down on the bench at the park where they stood.

She looked depressed and needed to be left alone.

Hurriedly, he got an umbrella and hasten to meet her. He trusted he would have done same if it were someone else. Her pale face took a glimpse at him as she couldn't believe this was all happening.

Her cheeks flushed red as her eyes seem downcast. She was despondent and sensed tears had clouded her eyes but suppressed it.

She sniffed her nose in and began running through various thoughts that kept lingering in her brain.

"Could her uncle be telling the truth? Would her father truly want to kill her? Why would he want to kill her anyway?"

"Because you are my weakness" Derick responded to her thought.

"You read my mind?"

"I guess I am truly the greatest alpha on the planet after all? He boasted.

She scoffed and wiped her face.

"Believe me I did not like this either, but both our lives are in danger as long as we stay apart" Derick explained further.

"Yeah! Yeah! I get it" she said to him. "Can I use the lavatory for a moment? I am pressed" she sought for his permission, and left anyway without a reply.

He walked with her to the door holding the umbrella above her head

He was going to walk in with her, but she demanded privacy.

"A little privacy please!" She beckoned and went in alone.

He groaned and stood at the door, while she was inside.

"Do not take long, we have to keep moving" he instructed.

It was thirty minutes already, but Jasmine never seemed to be coming out.

"Are you done?" Derick yelled out to her.

"Mate!" He yelled, but wasn't replied.

"Damn it!" He shouted and banged the door open.

There was no one in the lavatory, but the window was widely open.

Chris pushed Miranda to seat on the bench, and then gave her a daring look, while she licked her lips at him.

"Tell me nothing but the truth Miranda, what happened to Jasmine?" He demanded from her.

"He was tall, excessively hunky. He was her secret lover" she began immediately, as though she had been waiting for the moment.

"What?" Chris and Tyler chorused.

"Uh huh! He had a daring look, must be annoyed that she was getting married to another. He grabbed her and like the brush in time they disappeared" Miranda gibbered while she said those words.

"She is definitely not okay" the two boys chorused.

"They need to be taken to the hospital" Chris suggested.

"I will do that, you go check the house for clues" Tyler insisted.

"How about me?" Drake questioned out of the blue.

"Where have you been?" Chris stormed at him. He had not been in the hall for a while. His tie looked unknotted, his belt not properly arranged, and his pants' crotch looked swollen.

"Uh, uh!" Drake coughed aloud insincerely as he noticed Chris looking at that area.

"Yeah. You should take the girls to the hospital. Tyler and I will go into investigation" Chris commanded.

"What's going on? Why do they need to go to the hospital?" Drake questioned while Tyler and Chris ran off.

It seems he was the only one left in the wedding hall; with the girls who were all in an unfortunate coma.

A hand grabbed him from his stomach and pulled him to a rigid stand.

"Shall we continue now?" A deep voice muttered to his ears while he chuckled childishly.
