Chapter 23 - The Split Incident

"Why did you sell me out?" Roxy asked.

"Don't you think it's stupid to keep on fighting despite knowing you're going to lose anyway?" Shinji responded.

"Still, telling your enemies how your ally can be defeated is true betrayal," Roxy exclaimed.

"Do you hate me now?" Shinji questioned.

A brief silence passed between them as the sun began setting. Xialdre looked at the two before summoning ten thousand portal blasters, ten thousand shadow shards, and ten thousand lava eruptions beneath the ground.

Avias, noticing Shinji's betrayal and attempting to kill him, still attacked Xialdre. Xialdre teleported away as Avias kept firing flame breath directly at him. Xialdre made his entire dragon float into the sky and slammed it against the Monkey King's staff.

"No, it's just that I at least want to do some things before I die... like justice," Roxy responded to Shinji as the fight above them continued.

"You've done enough. If you had continued, you would have fallen to the ground with no one to be with," Shinji replied.

"What's wrong with that?" Roxy pressed.

"That's because I want to be with you and die with you!" Shinji yelled.

"Eh..." Roxy blushed.

"Don't you see? All this time... the moment we met, the moment I saw you, it was frickin' love at first sight," Shinji explained. "But yet, you continued to reject me, continued to get farther away from me. Then, when the commotion with Hila occurred, that was the first time you fell in love with me! And finally, I thought I had you, and I thought I could finally have you, but still no. The Blood Tribe, your hometown, didn't accept me!"

"Because of that, I had to literally get on their good side, and they turned out to not be your true parents, not your true tribe! Then I had to convince you that they were not your true kind, and that they were only using you, and you wouldn't listen to me... you almost killed me."

"And then I kept coming back until I finally convinced you, and it turned out I was right. And despite all of that, I still haven't even turned you into my actual girlfriend. You're not my fiancée, and I am not your fiancé."

"It seems like I've been chasing the wrong person all this time, huh?" Shinji concluded.

Roxy remained speechless as she stared at the ground in silence, emotions flooding her head, unable to comprehend it.

"Turns out I wasn't wrong for thinking you're the wrong person to be with me," Shinji exclaimed.

Shinji stood up and began walking away, his blood flowing like crazy as he said this last, "Hey, Roxy, I hope you live on your own happily." Shinji teleported back to her and kissed her on the lips.

Roxy felt her tears falling as Shinji transported his blood inside her. He fell to the ground, taking a heavy breath, and flicked his finger, teleporting Roxy out of the scene.

Shinji smiled as he was dying, realizing he was dying knowing the one he loved had fallen for him and that he had helped her stay alive.

"Find someone who's better than me," Shinji exclaimed with his last breath as he fell to the ground, unconscious.

"This staff won't be able to kill me, though I also cannot stop it," Xialdre said to himself. "If I can't stop it, then all these creatures living around me will be disintegrated."

"In my current state, my power isn't strong enough. I will need more fragments of myself to stop this staff. So, for now, I'll at least try to escape out of here."

"What if I help a person?" Xialdre questioned himself.

He looked around and saw Shinji lying on the ground, unconscious. Teleporting beside him, he thought, "This guy seems strong. Making him my slave will probably give me a better chance to find Adonai."

"Though to be honest, I kind of dislike having boys as my slaves, since they might take away the hearts of my girl slaves. But he is also the best tool to find out if the girls are truly tangle onto me, or, to be more precise, if they are actually loyal to me," Xialdre concluded.

Xialdre carried Shinji in his arms as Avias charged at him. In a flash, Xialdre teleported out of the scene, escaping a million meters away before the staff landed. However, the impact still hit Xialdre and Shinji.

Xialdre used shield magic, but the impact sent him and Shinji flying millions of kilometers away. The collision of the staff with the ground made the Hassia continent shake, creating a large hole and splitting the entire continent.

The impact disintegrated all the animals, unable to escape the immense force. The blow caused tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and storms, sending waves to the continents closest to Hassia.

All Xialdre could hear was silence as everything turned white outside his barrier. He and Shinji were flung across oceans. Xialdre made the barrier move straight along with the blast speed to lessen the pressure it was enduring.

Everything was white around them as Xialdre's barrier cracked open, and the explosion reached them, catching him and Shinji in the massive blast.

Meanwhile, Natalia used fire magic to create light as the girls were in pure darkness. They looked around in surprise at what had just happened.

"D-Did Master just smile?" Asabe questioned herself.

"Tha-That's progress, right?" Rain asked in disbelief.

"It is indeed a surprise," Natalia commented.

"I've never seen him smile since the moment I met him," Tailin replied.

"Master, I hope he can smile like that again," Clementine hoped.

"Big brother's life is currently in danger," Isayao replied.

"Does that matter?" Alisha commented.

All the girls' attention turned to her, except for Arisawa, who was still unconscious.

"What are you talking about?" Asabe questioned.

"Alisha is right. To be more precise, Xialdre is actually forcing us to be his slaves, right?" Yuri asked.

"How dare you, Yuri! He saved your life and mental health from Daniel, and now you're betraying him!?" Clementine blurted out.

"I didn't ask for his help. He forced himself to help me," Yuri explained.

"Girls, we shouldn't fight about this now, or it could end badly," Natalia interjected.

"Keep your mouth shut, Natalia!" Alisha retorted.

"I'm done being a slave. I'm royalty. Why did I end up like this?" Alisha responded, in tears.

"I'm going with my older sister, sorry, Furina and girls," Alixian revealed.

"Tailin, look at them," Isayao commented.

"I can't do anything about it," Tailin replied.

"Why are you also going along with them?" Clementine questioned.

"Well, um, yeah, I've done what I wanted. I've explored the outside world, and I now want to see Mom again," Tailin revealed.

"I thought so," Clementine replied.

In a flash, Clementine pulled out an assassin's pin and attempted to thrust it at Tailin's neck. Luckily, Emiko stopped her just in time by grabbing her shoulder.

"You piece of shit, Tailin," Clementine blurted out.

Immediately, Alisha took Tailin away from Clementine, creating distance between the groups.

"What the hell, Clementine?" Alisha yelled.

"Fuck you," Clementine retorted.

"I don't want to stay in Xialdre's grasp forever!" Lily exclaimed.

"I'm just going along with my daughter," Elara commented.

"You girls are just burdens to Master," Asabe exclaimed.

"You're right, Asabe," Rain agreed.

In a flash, the two charged at Alisha, Alixian, Tailin, Yuri, Lily, and Elara. But before they could land a hit, Xyrene managed to grab them, summoning tentacles inside the pocket domain.

She threw both Rain and Asabe back to where they were standing before, exclaiming, "I'm on your side, but committing violence from where we are standing right now is a sin against Master."

"Girls, calm down. We cannot end up like this," Furina commented.

The first group—Isayao, Clementine, Asabe, Rain, Furina, and Emiko—sat on one side of the pocket domain. On the other side were Alisha, Tailin, Alixian, Yuri, Lily, and Elara.

In the middle sat Xyrene and Natalia. Natalia was controlling them so this pocket domain wouldn't end up in a bloodbath. Arisawa lay in Natalia's lap, while Xyrene sat beside her, obeying Natalia's orders to keep the girls composed.

Natalia looked at Arisawa's sleeping face, hoping she would stay with them. She considered Arisawa her best friend and sister, especially if Xialdre decided to marry them.

The atmosphere was very tense as each group talked to each other, struggling to believe what was happening.

"If some of the girls decide to leave Xialdre and he lets them, I hope you will stay with me, Arisawa," Natalia said to herself, looking at Arisawa.

"Hey, give our sister to us. I doubt she will stay with Xialdre," Alisha blurted out.

"Shut up! Where she stays is for her to decide," Natalia yelled.

"Natalia, did you fully see what she transformed into when she was still conscious?" Xyrene questioned.

"Eh, well, I guess I didn't," Natalia admitted.

"I thought so. Most of the girls only felt her presence and saw her flying in the sky due to the immense fog that the storm was creating," Xyrene exclaimed.

"Why? What did she transform into?" Natalia asked.

"A seraphim," Asabe commented from the back.

Natalia changed her gaze back to Asabe, who was looking at them. "A seraphim, an angel race to be more precise," Asabe continued.

"The Heavens still have a hierarchy: Angels, Archangels, Ophanim, Cherubim, and the Seraphim," Asabe explained.

"There is nothing above the angels except their creators themselves, the Alpha Omegas. The Seraphim are the strongest among all angels, able to travel across dimensions. They surround the throne of the Alpha Omegas, continuously saying, 'Holy, holy, holy.'"

"Their only goal in life is to declare 'holy, holy, holy,' reminding us that the Alpha Omegas are holy. They start from the beginning and end at the end."

"As for the Cherubim, they continuously praise the Alpha Omegas, saying, 'Oh Alpha Omega, you are our only lord and savior. Oh Alpha Omega, you are our only lord.'"

"The Ophanim, also known as Thrones, represent the omnipresence and omniscience of God, symbolizing that God sees all and is everywhere."

"Next are the Archangels, the angels that sent the Demon King to hell. These angels are capable of defeating all the Demon Lords, along with the Demon King, alone."

"And last but not least are the Angels, also known as the white-winged. They live in the Falish continent and are the weakest among all angels, but still stronger compared to an ordinary human, demon, or any other race."

"Each angel has unique traits, but the Seraphim, the strongest among them all, are literally capable of talking to the Alpha Omegas themselves," Asabe concluded.

"Stop blabbering about this celestial culture of the Falish," Alisha commented.

"Shut up," Asabe responded angrily.

"Then if Arisawa is a Seraphim, does this prove Xialdre is an Alpha Omega?" Natalia questioned.

"That's right," Asabe responded.
