Everyone in the room knew that Liam was right. It was only after a few seconds of silence, did one of them speak.
"I understand. We will do our best to make sure that we won't touch that topic again. There is another issue here and that is the fact that the girl has nowhere to go now. Of course, she has her house but there is a high chance of her going missing of something bad happening if we just send her back there.
Her parents are missing and we have no information on any of her relatives since her father was a criminal with no family and her mother is a runaway who left her family just so she could be with that rotten man. We don't really have any choice but to send her back to her house but if you can find her brother or any of her guardian, they should be able to keep her safe."
Liam silently listened to the bulky cop before nodding, "Understandable. Let me speak with her and I'll register myself as her guardian. Her brother will approve of it if you ask him."
"No. You're not allowed to go out of this ward.", the nurse said as she gave him a stern look, "Your inner organs have suffered cuts so you will have to stay in here for at least a week before you're allowed to move."
Liam shook his head in response, "Nah. I'll ask for a discharge and rest in my place. I don't have the money to spend on the hospital bills."
The nurse folded her arms across her chest as she stared at him, "The bills will be paid by the government so there is no need to worry about that."
Before Liam could say anything, one of the cops spoke, "Your name is Bryce Mundane right?"
Seeing Liam nod, he continued, "It says here that you life in an internet cafe... Unfortunately, we cannot let you be a guardian when you don't have a proper house."
The four of them continued to talk about the guardianship and Liam's discharge procedures before coming to a final decision.
"Okay, so from today onwards, Nurse Nora and Bryce will be sharing a house together where Bryce is a tenant and Nora is the landlord. Correct?", the bulkier cop asked and the two of them nodded.
"Yes. That's only if he stays here until he's properly healed.", Nora said as she eyed Liam with a stern look on her face, to which he would only sigh in response.
Shifting his attention to the cops, he spoke, "Yes, but the only thing that's left is to talk to that girl and see if she agrees."
"Well, I'll go get her here. She's not really hurt if we ignore the minor bruises on her face and body.", the nurse said as she walked towards the door.
The cops looked at each other and bid Liam farewell before walking out right behind the nurse, leaving him alone in the ward.
Not knowing what to do, he went back to check up on the wound, only to hear a sharp voice enter his ears.
"If you dare to even touch the dressing, I'm going to kill you myself!", the nurse said as she poked her head into the room and glared at him until he put his gown back down.
Once she was gone, he let out a long sigh, "I don't know if she's just extremely professional or if she's just a psycho....", he muttered as he lay back down on the bed and closed his eyes as he did not want to incur the nurse's wrath. Especially when he was supposed to move to her house once he was discharged.
'She reminds me of Sophia....', he thought to himself as he frowned. Painful memories returned but he shook them off and switched back to his main body since there wasn't much to do.
He saw Noah and his girlfriend sitting opposite to him as they ate their supper in peace. The only thing that bothered him was the girl since she was giving him suspicious glances while smirking.
This time, his head didn't hurt too much and he only felt the stinging pain, which he still wasn't quite used to but he was able to keep his expression neutral. Everything that happened while he was gone, had entered his mind, making him aware of what was going on.
"So... you're telling me that your uncle owns this hotel group? That's really impressive.", Liam said as he drank the wine that was in his glass, only to feel the effects of alcohol hit him hard with just one sip.
'Damn... it's either super strong or I just cannot handle alcohol.', he thought as he cupped his face in his palms.
Noah gracefully chewed on the food that was in his mouth before he wiped his lips with a tissue.
"Yeah... it is. Though he's my uncle, he gives me a huge allowance of a hundred thousand rudo so I'm pretty happy. After my parents passed away due to some incident, my uncle took me in as my guardian and from then on, I have experienced a good life. No complaints.", he said as he watched Liam drink the wine.
With a grin on his face, he picked up the glass beside him and took a sip himself, "This wine, I made it myself. Isn't it good?"
Not knowing what to do, Liam nodded silently before taking his hands off his face, "Yeah... it's pretty strong I won't lie. Damn, I'm a little dizzy already."
Noah watched Liam, who's face was completely red as he slowly picked up the pasta with is fork and brought it to his mouth.
'That's weird... is this the first time he's drinking or is he just boot licking me after finding out about my uncle?', he thought as he watched him before dismissing those thoughts.
