Chapter 10 - Cheap Illegal Serums - (1)

Liam walked out of the room and down to the ground floor before exiting the large hotel complex. He didn't have to take a taxi or walk too far since there was a bank right beside the hotel, a few meters away.

The process was pretty simple, and he didn't have to do much other than showing them his ID. Once his ID was verified, the guy behind the counter gave him a card along with a checkbook and a few other papers.

Liam took all of the things he was given and walked back to his room before he took the stack of cash and deposited it in his bank. Once he was done, he switched to his avatar and walked out of the cabin he was given.

He casually walked to the receptionist and politely asked, "Um, could you please tell me if there is a bank nearby? I want one that gives me access to interspatial transactions."

"Oh yeah, there is one but it's almost ten miles from here. Banks that offer interspatial transactions are quite rare in this district. If you want, I can make you an account from here but if you want to deposit hard cash, you might have to go to the bank itself," she said while flashing him a smile.

Glad that there was an easier way, he nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, please. I'd love it if you helped me with this."

Nodding at his reply, the girl got busy with her computer, "Mister... Bryce Mundane... am I right?", she asked and glanced at him, only to see him nod.

After she confirmed her name memorizing capabilities, she continued with doing her thing. Liam gave her everything she needed, that being his ID and a few minutes later, he was walking back to his room with his account information in his hands, written on a sheet of paper.

The checkbook and debit card would apparently be delivered in a day or two, but the most important thing for him was to have an account and that was it.

He didn't ask the receptionist about how to use the account without the cards since he already knew from the memories that were given to him. Once inside his cabin, he sat on the chair and took out his phone to download the banking app before setting things up.

Once he was done, he switched to his main body and did the same before sending most of the money to his avatar's account. Switching back to his avatar again, he turned on the computer and checked for a shop nearby that sold serums.

When the page opened and showed his location, he stared at the monitor for a few seconds in shock.

"To think that my avatar would start out from the planet where my main body ran from..." he muttered to himself as he continued to stare at the screen.

Based on what he knew, his house was located in a neighboring district, but since it was his avatar, he couldn't just go there and say hello to his parents and sister. The moment his sister came to his mind, he frowned.

'I escaped from those guys but I wonder how she's doing. I used to be their main target but now that I'm gone, I don't really know how things are going for her...' he thought as he felt guilt.

He always wanted siblings, and even though he considered the kids back in his orphanage as his family, none of them visited him when he was in his lowest stage in life. While thinking about his blood-related sister, he let out a long sigh before getting back to work.

'I'll go check on her once I've gotten some serum and made some money. If things aren't going well, then I might have to take action,' he made up his decision as he continued to search for a good place to buy serums.

Based on his search, he could tell that there were a few shops nearby so he promptly stood up from his chair and walked out once again, this time in search of serums that he could buy. It didn't take him too long to find the nearest shop, and once he walked inside, he was quite surprised to find that there was nothing on display.

Instead, there was one middle-aged man sitting on a chair while staring at him silently.

Liam casually walked toward the counter and spoke, "Sir, could you please show me a few serums? I'll pick one that fits my budget."

The man shook his head and placed a small menu-like thing on the table but instead of food items, there was a list of serums and their prices.

1. Low-Grade Serum I - 30,000 Rudo

2. Low-Grade Serum II - 40,000 Rudo

3. Low-Grade Serum III - 50,000 Rudo

4. Mid-Grade Serum I - 100,000 Rudo

5. Mid-Grade Serum II - 150,000 Rudo

6. Mid-Grade Serum III - 200,000 Rudo

7. High-Grade Serum I - 500,000 Rudo

The first three seemed okay to him, but when he saw the price of a mid-grade, his jaw dropped.

'I only have 80,000 Rudo with me right now, but if I wanted to risk it all, I can get 20,000 more from my main body,' he thought as he stared at the prices before remembering something from the transferred memories.

With an apologetic smile on his face, he pushed the menu back toward the man, "Sorry, but these are just too pricey."

"Tch, poor people keep dreaming instead of working hard. That's why you guys will never do better at life," the middle-aged man said, but Liam ignored him and walked out before he hailed a taxi to the neighboring district where his actual home was.

While sitting inside the car, he couldn't suppress his grin as he thought about his plan.

'Negative effects will not be transferred to the main body when this avatar dies, so I don't have to worry about long-term stuff. Since I have financial limitations, it's better to take risks and go to the guy named Mad Rick for illegal unauthorized serums instead.'
