Chapter 16 - Lost In The Dark

Axel slowly opened the wooden door handle, and with every centimeter opened, the gust of wind got stronger. The white space around him began to vibrate with the new energy entering this room.

When Axel opened the door completely, the gentle breeze turned into a refreshing burst. His hair was flowing in the wind, and he felt a strong natural energy hit him.

A bright light filled the empty space from behind the door. Axel felt a positive energy vibration, like an invitation to step out and explore the new world that waited behind the door.

Axel entered the wooden doors and was greeted by a dazzling light. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting his eyes and mind adjust to the brightness that filled the room.

When his eyes slowly opened, he found himself in a place that was completely new to him. A flower garden filled with various kinds of flowers stretched as far as the eye could see.

"Wow..."

Axel felt enchanted by the beauty of the flower garden that stretched out in front of him. He could feel the sweet scent of flowers wafting through the air, filling his sense of smell with the softness and warmth of nature.

The various colors of the striking flowers dazzled Axel's eyes, from soft pink to deep purple, creating a dazzling color palette before him. He stepped forward in awe, feeling as if he had entered a world far from the hustle and bustle and troubles.

His pace slowed naturally, letting him enjoy every second amidst this natural beauty. He felt a sense of calm wash over him, erasing all his anxiety and worries for a moment. In this beautiful flower garden, Axel felt like he was at one with nature, united with a life that was so peaceful and harmonious.

"Oh, it's been a long time since I had a visitor," said the woman in a soft voice that floated like a melody. Her kind eyes looked at Axel attentively.

Axel was surprised by the voice that suddenly appeared amidst the silence of the flower garden. He turned around and saw a woman appear among the rows of beautiful flowers. The woman had a friendly smile on her face, exuding an aura of warmth and peace.

Axel was amazed by this woman's beauty and sincerity. He frowned, trying to understand the situation he suddenly found himself in.

"What is this...? Where am I?" Axel asked in surprise, trying to understand where he was and who the woman in front of him was.

The woman with white hair that almost touched the ground looked so beautiful in the middle of the enchanting flower garden. Her white hair flowed down like a waterfall, giving her a graceful and mystical look. Her golden amber eyes radiated an aura of mystery, adding a touch of magic to her charming appearance.

With a gentle, timeless smile, the woman studied Axel attentively, as if reading his thoughts with a warm but knowing gaze.

"Please, sit." replied the woman.

Axel watched in surprise as a woman in the garden greeted him kindly. He complied, sitting where she indicated. Nearby, a table presented itself, equipped with an attractive looking tea set. The woman smiled gently while sipping tea from her cup.

"What is this place?" Axel asked the woman.

The woman smiled gently, her eyes radiating calm wisdom as she answered Axel's question. "This place is a world between life and death, a place where souls like you can rest before continuing their journey."

Axel listened seriously, trying to understand the significance of the woman's statement. "Is that so... It seems like I'm dead." Axel answered while lowering his head.

"No, Axel. Your presence here is not the end of your journey, but the beginning of something bigger." said the woman in a voice full of confidence.

Axel raised his head, his eyes looking at the woman with a mixture of curiosity and confusion. "A bigger role?" he asked in a voice full of questions.

The woman smiled even deeper, exuding calm. "You will find the answer over time, Axel. But what is certain is that your role will bring big changes."

Axel pondered for a moment, trying to understand the woman's words. "I don't understand what you're saying," said Axel, his expression reflecting curiosity and confusion.

Axel sat in the flower garden, looking at the vibrant flowers around him, but he was swaying in feelings of frustration and annoyance. Recalling the times in the other world, where even defeating slimes had not been easy for him, brought a wave of fear and despair.

"I'm a weak adventurer," said Axel. Feeling his inability with full disappointment. "Even defeating a slime takes an incredible amount of time and effort."

He regrets himself, seeing himself as helpless in the harsh world of adventure. Every failure he ever experienced, every obstacle that was too difficult for him, all came back to haunt him.

Axel felt hopeless when he looked at his hands which seemed to be a symbol of his failure and weakness. Between the frustration and disappointment that hit him, he felt like he was almost giving up on himself. Every time he remembers his past failures, Axel feels a heavy burden, as if there is no hope of changing his fate.

As his thoughts drifted back, Axel remembered difficult moments that made him feel helpless. He remembered how he was unable to face his enemies, how every effort seemed futile, and how he kept failing to achieve his goals. It all adds up to a deep sense of hopelessness.

Axel looked at the woman with confusion and a little disbelief. "It seems you have the wrong person, I'm not the figure you're looking for," he said in a flat tone, trying to reject the woman's belief about the big role that awaited him.

The woman smiled gently, her eyes exuding calm. "Axel, I believe that you have unrevealed potential. Every adventurer has an important role in the flow of time, including you."

"I'm not sure," Axel said honestly. "I'm just an ordinary adventurer who often fails. Why do you believe that I have a special role?"

The woman nodded understandingly. "Axel, sometimes our role in this world is not fully revealed. But every failure brings us closer to discovering our true potential. Believe in yourself, and one day, you will see your true role."

Of course Axel wanted to believe what the woman said, but in reality he was just an ordinary adventurer who even he wasn't sure could meet the woman's expectations. While Axel's body adrift in the lake, his mind drifted in the world between life and death with the woman. Even though on the one hand he felt called to believe what the woman said, on the other hand, his physical condition of being caught in real danger made him increasingly doubtful.

With each wave of water that washed over his body, Axel felt panic start to creep up on him. He muses about his apparent desperation in his adventure, and how he's not sure he can survive in such a desperate situation. However, amidst his despair, there was also a desire that continued to burn within him, the desire to survive and continue his journey.

The woman placed her soft hand on Axel's hand. "Don't worry, everything will be fine, Axel." The woman's touch gave Axel a comforting warmth in the midst of uncertainty. He responded slowly, trying to accept the peace offered.

Axel looked at the woman with eyes full of doubt, but there was also a flash of hope blossoming in them. "Thank you," he said in an almost hoarse voice.

"CRACK"

The sound of the fracture shocked Axel. His eyes were wide open, but he could see nothing but white around him. It felt like something was tearing apart the empty world around him. Axel felt his confusion deepen.

"This world... what happened?" Axel asked, while trying to find out what was going on around him.

"It seems our time is running out." The woman said to Axel.

Axel felt his confusion deepen. "We're almost up on time? What do you mean?" Axel asked in a trembling voice.

The woman smiled gently, her eyes filled with peace. "You will soon return to your real world, Axel. Remember, your role is still waiting to be fulfilled."

Axel tried to understand what the woman was saying, but before he could ask further, everything became a blur. A feeling of emptiness surrounded Axel, and he felt like he was being swept away by an invisible force.

Axel felt the world around him crumbling, white slowly replaced by dark black. In panic, he tried to reach the woman who was smiling gently, but Axel's hand couldn't reach the figure. The platform beneath him began to crumble, pushing him into the abyss of darkness.

"Wait!!" Axel shouted, but his efforts were in vain. He plunged into darkness, swept away by the mysterious power that surrounded him.

"Wow!!" he shouted as he fell. In the last seconds before disappearing into darkness, Axel saw the woman's lips move, as if she was saying something he couldn't hear.

Axel sank into darkness, disappearing from that world.
