"It appears that Angel Subzero has left the boundary of Earth and is now traveling further into space, Nebulas is still struggling in his grasp." One of the men working alongside Mr Oshiro on this case informed him.
"Well let's see what happens from here. There's nothing much we can do except keep a lookout for any major activity going on up there." Mr Oshiro responded while watching the radar on the screens of the devices carefully.
"Got it." The rest of them responded.
"Any idea where Angel Subzero is headed to?"
"We've lost track he must've gone to an area further than we can navigate."
Mr Oshiro noticed the inconsistent signals on the screens. Not only that but there seems to be a concentration of low temperatures in one discrete area, perhaps they have done research about it but the location was too far to monitor. Could it be that Douma was trying to get rid of the Winter Storm while also dealing with Nebulas at the same time? Something's going on here and Mr Oshiro might have a clue as to what it is.
"We've just got some information. Apparently, Angel Subzero is absorbing the Winter Storm!"
That last sentence made Mr Oshiro spin around frantically.
"What? Is it true? That could be dangerous especially if he's not careful." While Mr Oshiro had high hopes about Douma's choice of action, he could put himself and others in danger.
But there was nothing Atlas could do, Douma was far away in the distant galaxies. Mr Oshiro just had to hope that everything will go fine and that this chaos will be over soon.
Meanwhile, Douma had absorbed more than half of the Winter Storm, leaving Nebulas panicking from this unexpected power that the blonde was charging up.
"Listen here you twerp, whatever you're trying to do here isn't going to work no matter how hard you try. Just accept the fact that my actions have more impact than yours. If another catastrophe happens after this, you might as well leave your friends for good. They will be hoping for that too." Nebulas watched the shrine leader concentrating on accumulating the storm that was becoming obedient than it ever was.
"That's a very questionable choice of last words Nebulas, I don't think anyone's going to remember them." Douma replied, after all, Nebulas was trapped in the very same disaster he feared.
The rumbles of the storm roared across space as though it heard everything within its boundaries. Nebulas could sense this sudden wave of panic, if it wasn't obvious enough, the storm was watching him. Whenever he tried to fight his way out of Douma's hold, he would feel small. Anything he did in the storm's presence was being closely monitored.
"Of course the storm will side with you. It's your own power did you expect me to be shocked? This trick of yours isn't going far if you continue to remain oblivious." Nebulas snarled, thrashing at Douma again.
The Winter Storm slowly disappeared. Douma felt its power running through his veins, it decided to be the diligent utility that it once was.
Well this is it. Taking one last glance at Nebulas, Douma unleashed his power, emitting a strong wave of frost that traveled outwards like a cold rush of energy.
A never-ending resurgence of frost struck Nebulas as he screamed in fear and rebellion before disintegrating into fading pieces.
The freezing wave traveled towards other stars and planets, engulfing them in the storm of frost that was about to reach Earth, a climatic event that no one has ever witnessed before.
Shinobu observed the events happening in the sky and widened her eyes at the explosion coming from the glowing light that had disappeared a few seconds ago. A ring of what looked to be frost was approaching, turning the air still and cold.
"What is going on...? Douma please be OK." The violette couldn't help but panic at the empty sky. Douma was there earlier, where could he have gone? She didn't want to assume the worst she was willing to stand there and see if he would return.
Instead, she was met with the swift wave of frost that rushed towards the area sending her backwards against the tree outside the house. There was hardly any time to get away from it at the speed it was moving. Now the violette had to deal with the chilling pain in her head and the sudden loss of energy she was feeling from the harsh impact.
Piles of snow landed on the ground during the storm's descent. Everywhere else had the same outcome, the planet was now covered in a storm that had been put to rest.
Douma landed on the ground, glancing at his surroundings. Lying on the grass was the remains of Nebulas, a portion of his arm that was covered in frost.
As the shrine leader took a closer look at the portion of Nebulas' arm, he noticed some slight movement.
What? That is some insane adaptation. Is there any way to defeat this guy once and for all? Douma noticed the cells in Nebulas' arm moving about on the surface. Even if Nebulas' body wasn't functioning anymore he could still thrive by regenerating his cells.
When Nebulas' cells were about to reach the edge of his arm, the frost surrounding it started moving towards them. It engulfed all three of the cells as they stopped in their tracks and shattered into pieces.
Nebulas was long gone, there was no way he could ever return. The planet was now free of his demise. The Hasu Mountains could flourish again.
The minute Douma was about to take his leave, he noticed a car coming to a stop at the corner of his vision.
A man with an Oni mask stepped out of the vehicle and looked at him. He was holding a long spear-like weapon. There was the familiar logo on the car door. One that Douma recognized, this man's friends must have called for reinforcements.
Or he must have decided to face the shrine leader himself, for no one else arrived with him. A very strange decision indeed, and Douma was curious to see where this will go.
That Oni mask was the very same one Douma saw in Atashi's dream.
So it's true, he's part of that secret organization. Now he's decided to show himself.
"We finally meet." The man said in an off-putting tone. There was a lack of sincerity in his voice which wasn't surprising coming from someone like him. "Don't treat this as a welcome party, I have no time to fool around."
Douma narrowed his eyes at the man standing beside his vehicle. He's not getting away this time. I won't allow it. He has destroyed the Tagami family.
"If you think chitter chatters are the way to go then you're horribly mistaken. I'm here to finish you off myself." The man swung his weapon to side getting into a fighting stance.
"Trying to sound bold, what a pity." Douma found it amusing that despite what's happened this man was still insistent on seeming threatening, when he was well aware that he didn't stand a chance against the shrine leader, someone he most likely knows about given the discussions going on in Cryptic Sanctuary.
"Shut it! Don't you dare say a word!" Without thinking, the man activated his weapon that gave off electricity at its intersection on top and ran towards Douma with a hint of fear in his eyes and movements. He wasn't prepared and knew very well that this was a terrible decision.
Douma leaped out of the way and knocked the man to the side with his arm. The man fell to the ground with his taser, sulking and muttering to himself.
"It seems Atashi's betrayal is leeching off of you." The man spoke, he got up from the ground and swung his taser at the shrine leader again, narrowly missing.
Clenching his fists, Douma watched the man attempt to strike him with the taser again.
Normally I'm calm, always putting up an unreadable facade. But this time, I'm really fuming. Douma hated the fact that this man was right here in the Hasu Mountains, continuing to ruin other people's lives with his plans. The same plans that have scarred Eiko and his friends. Even if Atashi returns, the wounds will take a while to heal. Eiko already had so much to deal with. This wasn't fair.
"I can sense your blood boiling." The man commented with venom in his voice.
When the taser was about to land on him, Douma flicked his finger at the man causing him to stumble with his weapon from the blast of force.
The man got up, plucking the strands of grass on his coat. "I'm finishing the job that Nebulas couldn't."
Douma got his fans out and prepared himself for another rampage from the man who was an actual demon behind that mask. His appearance on the surface was enough to tell people what kind of sick twisted person he was.
Activating the taser again, the man rushed towards Douma and swung the taser at him that was met with a golden fan that blocked it.
"Maybe Atashi has been doing a great job. That artifact was the best choice, I should pat myself on the back for making such a wise decision." The man backed away and repeated the same action that led to the same result.
"He's been doing a great job at hiding. Cowardice is what your inferior organization aims to achieve and I say inferior because you guys are always hiding never coming out of the sewers." Douma pushed the man to the ground with his fan.
"But who was the one that started the storm?" The man sprang up and dashed towards the blonde again. "Even though we stay in the shadows we haven't caused anyone harm. Perhaps hiding is a better option. It saves us the trouble of having to fix our own faults."
Douma immediately kicked the taser that the man was blocking himself with. His feet were dragged towards the line of trees behind him. The storm is gone. Are people still going to keep talking about it? How long more do I have to deal with this?!
"I won't let you get away with this. It's about time everyone knows the source of their problems."
"Tough luck. You're wanted not me. Even your own people want you out of here!"
"Let's see about that."
The man began rushing towards Douma again with the static of his taser following his aggression.
Douma got ready as he positioned his fan towards the incoming figure. As usual the repulsive demon was going to try to impale Douma with that basic weapon of his.
"It's no use I will show everyone the monster you truly are!"
At that moment, Douma kicked the man with more force this time. The man dived back to the same spot tumbling on the grass like a bowling ball.
If he hasn't given up yet, then I really don't know what to say. Douma watched the man lying on the grass, his arms and legs were still moving and his taser was still on.
"I'm just warming up... Time for the real show."
Douma covered his face with his fan. Slowly the man got up and gripped the long taser firmly.
He can't be serious.
"That's it! You're going to regret this!" The masked man immediately started running towards Douma, screaming at the top of his lungs.
While the man was still running, Douma took his time to put his fans back in his pockets. "There's nothing to worry about." He said to himself.
Once the man got close he leaped up and plunged Douma's shoulder blade with his taser.
"Now I got you-" There was something wrong.
The electricity flowed through him instead, shocking the man as he started screaming in agony. Douma had reflected the attack. The masked man didn't take note of this which Douma found amusing.
Douma continued standing there while the masked man continued writhing from the continuous flow of electricity. He then fell back with a ruptured mask that revealed half of his face underneath the shadows.
Widening his eyes in horror, Douma recognized this man. It was Tanashi, he was working under Mr Oshiro at Atlas.
So it's true, he's the one behind this. The vision Douma had at Mr Oshiro's house came to light again. In fact, Douma could sense a vague familiarity from this man since the start of the fight. Tanashi was a spy at Atlas, directing their plans to Mr Moikawa.
Tanashi stared at Douma dead eyed. Douma heard a low rumble in his throat. As intimidating as it may seem, this fight was over. Anything reckless that Tanashi decides to do after this would be deemed foolish.
"What a surprise, if it isn't Tanashi." Douma said, narrowing his eyes at the man in front of him who struggled to stand upright from the pain he felt. "Regardless of where you are, the trait of a pushover will always remain. No matter how hard you try to hide it." That mask of his didn't shield his true identity it was possible to guess the person underneath it.
"No you're wrong. I'm doing this for the greater good. If people continue living in simplicity there will be no hardships to keep us going! Atashi is a prime example of that he has now become the warrior that he's always dreamt of being! Without my help he wouldn't have crawled out of that pit of despair." Tanashi removed his mask and dropped it. He then got up and charged towards Douma who stood there unbothered.
"So a manipulation tactic? For someone on both sides of the coin, you should know that your sick plans will never prevail. Unless your too dimwitted to even realize, your schemes have come to an end." Douma whacked Tanashi at the side of the head with his arm, causing Tanashi to knock against the tree behind him.
Tanashi, now slouched against the tree trunk in a weak state muttered to himself and looked at the blonde approaching him. Never had he felt so much hatred for someone. Of all people it had to be the founder of Paradise Shrine confronting him and ruining Cryptic Sanctuary's operations.
"It's not over yet. You still have to go through Mr Moikawa. Not just him, many others too including your friend Atashi who's no longer on your side! You think this will end any time soon? Don't make me laugh!"
Even in this state he has time to talk so much. Douma faced his palm towards the large tree. A bright glowing light appeared as Tanashi stifled back in fear, watching the shrine leader cast some sort of spell on the tree.
The slightest movement of the tree made Tanashi jump. A hollow face that reminded Tanashi of a Jack O Lantern's appeared on the tree as it constricted Tanashi with its branches.
"What can I do for you Lord Douma?" The tree said while Tanashi was screaming for his life in between the leaves and branches.
"Don't let him get away." Douma was treating this like a joke which made Tanashi madder.
"Will do." Growling, the tree looked sharply at Tanashi who stopped struggling against the branches and hid beneath them after seeing the tree's terrifying expression.
The sound of sirens got closer as Douma stepped back with a smile on his face. He could tell Tanashi was getting anxious from hearing them.
"Your cell awaits you Tanashi." Douma said provokingly.
Tanashi began squirming between the branches desperately but it was no use, the tree had a firm hold on him.
I should get going. Douma walked away from the area with the next destination in mind, the very same one behind all these never-ending problems.
