Following Sarah's sharing of her experience they were somewhat hesitant to split up and considered staying as a group. Sarah, looking at the others laughed.
"That was all a long time ago," she said as much for her as the others, "we can cover more ground is we split up when we can."
With that, the group split up once more and ventured forth into the heart of the city, divided into two groups, each tasked with scavenging for supplies in different parts of the urban landscape. Sarah and Samantha set out together, their footsteps echoing against the desolate streets as they made their way through the crumbling remnants of civilization.
As Dusty and William searched for supplies they came across a large group of dead zombies. Looking at the bodies it was clear these zombies had been killed with bullets. They bodies were full of bullet holes.
Looking at Dusty, William spoke softly, "There are other survivors here and they are well armed."
Dusty nodded, "we will have to be extra careful."
They resumed their search of the area.
As they walked, Sarah's gaze was drawn to a large glass building that loomed before them, its reflective surface shimmering in the bright light of the sun. Though she couldn't quite place why, the building seemed strangely familiar to her - as if she had been there before, in another life.
Before she could dwell on the feeling any further, a sudden commotion erupted from the shadows, and the two women found themselves face to face with a group of zombies, their rotting flesh gnashing and clawing at the air with a frenzied hunger.
With a shared glance, Sarah and Samantha drew their weapons, their movements fluid and practiced as they prepared to face the undead horde.
As Sarah and Samantha faced off against the zombies they saw them dressed in what appeared to be lab coats. The air crackled with tension, the echoes of their footsteps mingling with the guttural groans of the undead. With weapons drawn, they moved with precision and grace, their movements synchronized as they fought side by side against the relentless onslaught.
Sarah's sword sliced through the air with deadly accuracy, each strike aimed at the decaying flesh of their adversaries. Her movements were fluid and precise, honed by forced survival in the harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic world. Beside her, Samantha wielded her knife with equal skill, her movements quick and decisive as she dispatched zombie after zombie with practiced efficiency.
But these were no ordinary zombies - they wore tattered lab coats and bore the insignia of the BioTech company. As she fought, Sarah couldn't stop looking at the logo displayed on their coats. The zombies continued to attack, their decaying hands clawing at the air with a frenzied hunger. With each swing of their weapons, Sarah and Samantha fought with a ferocity born of determination unwavering as they faced down their undead foes.
With each zombie that fell beneath their blades, the tension in the air grew thicker, the stakes higher than ever before. But Sarah and Samantha refused to back down, their determination unyielding as they fought with all their might to overcome the horrors that lay before them. And as the last of the zombies crumpled to the ground, defeated and lifeless, the two women stood victorious amidst the wreckage, their breaths coming in ragged gasps as they surveyed the battlefield before them.
As Sarah continued to stare at the familiar name on display, a flood of memories washed over her—a jumble of fragmented images and half-remembered conversations. She remembered talking to people from or about BioTech. She remembered them showing her around a building that looked just like the one before them. But the details were hazy, obscured by the fog of time and the trauma of whatever she had experienced.
When Sarah had attacked the lab coat clad zombies, with each swing of her sword, she felt a surge of purpose - an unspoken desire to uncover the truth behind her lost memories and the secrets that lay hidden behind the name BioTech.
As the last of the zombies had fallen silent amidst the wreckage of the street, Sarah turned to Samantha, her eyes burning with a fierce intensity. "We need to find a way into that building," she said, her voice tinged with urgency. "There might be answers there—answers to questions I didn't even know I had. It has something to do with BioTech"
Samantha nodded in agreement, her own curiosity piqued by the mention of the mysterious company. Together, they approached the glass doors of the building, their hearts pounding with anticipation as they prepared to uncover the secrets that lay hidden within.
As Sarah and Samantha stepped through the glass doors of the building, they entered into a grand lobby that once exuded an air of prestige and importance, but now lay in a state of disrepair and neglect. The expansive space was dominated by towering walls of glass that stretched up to the high ceiling, allowing dim rays of sunlight to filter through the dust-laden air.
The once-luxurious furnishings were now mere shadows of their former glory, their plush velvet upholstery stained and torn, their polished wood surfaces marred by scratches and scuff marks. Expensive-looking paintings adorned the walls, their ornate frames now tarnished and coated in a layer of grime. The images depicted scenes of scientific discovery and innovation, a testament to the company's lofty ambitions and aspirations.
Amidst the opulent decay, a few bodies lay scattered on the floor, their decaying forms a grim reminder of the horrors that had unfolded within these walls. The stench of death hung heavy in the air, mingling with the musty scent of dust and decay that permeated the space.
Despite the desolation that surrounded them, Sarah and Samantha pressed forward, their footsteps echoing loudly in the silence of the abandoned building. They moved cautiously through the lobby, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of danger or hidden secrets waiting to be uncovered.
As they explored further, they discovered a reception desk at the far end of the lobby, its once-polished surface now covered in a thick layer of dust. A computer terminal sat abandoned behind the desk, its screen dark and lifeless, a relic of a bygone era.
With each step they took, Sarah's memories began to resurface with increasing clarity, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place as she pieced together the fragments of her past. And as they delved deeper into the bowels of the building, they knew that they were on the cusp of uncovering the truth behind the mysteries of BioTech - a truth that had the power to change their lives forever.
But amidst the memories, there was a sense of unease—a feeling that something was not quite right, that there were secrets lurking in the shadows waiting to be uncovered. With each step they took, Sarah felt a growing sense of dread building in the pit of her stomach, a premonition of the revelations that lay ahead.
As the continued to search through the building there was nothing the indicated BioTech had been there, no signage, no papers left behind, not lab coats. As Sarah continued to walk she began to wonder if perhaps she had been dreaming, could her mind have made it all up. Finally Samantha stopped her, taking her hand.
"I believe you, but perhaps this is just the wrong building. Perhaps we should go back."
Sarah lowered her head, "You're likely right." She turned and started toward the exit.
