Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Memories (1)

"I love you, Qing'er..."

"I love you too, Mo Fan..."

Well, and just like this, a night of passion started...

...

"Hey, homeless boy! Since you now live with us, you'll have to be my personal slave from now on, hahahahaha!"

"Slave?" A little golden-haired boy, sitting on a couch, repeated in confusion the little and cute brown-headed girl's remark. What did she mean with that? And why did she say something like that as if it was an absolute imperial order?

"Qing'er! Watch your mouth! Can't you be a little bit more gentle towards Mo Fan? You know what he just passed through!"

"No! I don't care! He's just a homeless and poor boy! He should just be grateful that we even took a monster like him in and should be even serving us like a slave to repay everything we did for him!"

The little girl's ruthless words struck, almost stabbed, Mo Fan like a sword; the previous feeling of comfortability, that the old man made him feel around before, completely disappeared, and he now felt like in a stranger's house: was there really no place for him anymore? Was there really no place for a monster like him? Well, but that was obvious... who would want a monster in their house after all? A monster that killed his father at only four years of age? Nobody.

The more he thought about this, the more Mo Fan's sadness started to turn into anger, not anger for the little girl, and nor for his father as he was already dead now, but for himself. He was weak... he was a psycopat bastard... he couldn't even protect his own mother! The nerves on his hand started to intensely buldge as Mo Fan's blood boiled with intense rage mixed sadness: what was even the point of living anymore? Couldn't he just kill himself? After all, Buddha wouldn't certainly forgive him for what he had done! He wouldn't be forgiven for all the attrocities he had done!

Maybe he was being too harsh on himself, too much harsh... but what was to be expected when every single fucking story that his mother ever read to him involved literal monsters extremely revenge and blood thirstied! Every single one of them! Why did her mother even read such stories to a four years old?

"Mo Fan, when you grow up, remember my words: even if someone does something to you, you shouldn't reatilate by doing the same thing to him as well, because, in that way, you'll end up being the same as him, just like the monster of Frankenstein..."

"Shit! Even my mother would agree with me! I am a monster! This old man was wrong! I am a disgusting monster! I don't deserve to live! I don't deserve to live! Why am I still alive! Why?!"

He was definitely exaggerating too much now, too much! He had just taken revenge for his mother and protected himself from his father, and yet here he was declaring himself a monster, as if he had committed some sort of ruthless genocide.

The old man, seeing him like that, had to immediately stop his daughter. "Qing'er! Go to your room! Now!"

"Hehe," but despite having just been shouted at by her father, the little girl didn't show even a single sign of discomfort and just playfully stuck her tongue out at the father before running off to her room. "Then I better go before he kills me as well, hehehehe!"

"Qing'er!" The old man shouted out of sheer anger. He knew that his daughter was mischievous but he didn't know that she was this much! Where did he fail in raising her?

"Boy, please, forgive her, she-" The old man started, but, almost immediately, Mo Fan got up from the couch, with a dark angered expression, interrupting him. "Thanks old man for having seen the good in me, but she's right, I am a monster and nothing will ever change about this..."

"What are you saying, Mo Fan?! We already talked about this in the forest! You're not a monster!"

"What do you know about me, huh?!" The golden-haired kid started shouting now. "You've known me for barely a day! So what do you know about me! How can you even know if I'll kill you and your daughter one day?! I don't deserve to live with you two!"

At Mo Fan's words, the old man was speechless. He had met a lot of people during his adventures throughout all of the world, but he had never met someone so good hearted and so hard on himself as this kid! He was even willing to live alone or die just to not hurt the people around him! He was scared by what his hand had done and feared what they might do again! A boy like this was everything but a monster!

"So, thanks for everything and take care..." and just as he said that, he immediately headed towards the exit door, only for the old man's hand to immediately stop him. "Mo Fan! I won't permit you to leave this house! I already accepted you as a part of my family and I won't certainly let one of my family to wander alone in the woods and possibly die!"

"Thanks, old man, I really appreciate everything that you did for me, but..." Mo Fan began, slowly turning his head towards the old man's and smiling to him. "But I've already my choice..."

"A disgusting monster like me doesn't deserve to live!" And said that, Mo Fan returned heading towards the door, but, once again, as he grabbed its handle, a hand stopped him. "What are you saying Mo Fan?! Are you planning to end your life perhaps?!"

"No," the golden-haired kid blatantly responded, this time not even bothering to face him. "I won't kill myself! My hands have already taken enough lives... even if it's mine, I don't want to take another life again..."

"Then what are you planning to do? You don't have a home, you don't money, you don't have strength... you don't have anything! How do you plan to survive?"

"Surviving? To keep this disgusting being of mine living?"

"Mo Fan! Please, don't do it! You're not a monster, stop thinking that way! You just wanted to protect who you loved!"

"Protect? She was already dead when I killed him, so was I perhaps protecting her lifeless corpse? No, I took revenge and in that way I became the same as him, a monster! Now, please, let me go! I don't wanna hurt this planet with my presence any second more." And just like that, he left, not even looking one last time at the old man who was trying everything to make him stay.

"Young boy..." The old man couldn't do anything else besides looking at the back of the little young golden-headed kid as he left, walking towards some unkown direction. Even he didn't know where.

"Daddy..." a little cute sad voice said all of a sudden, coming from behind the old man, and so, making this immediately turn towards it. "Qing'er! Do you realize what you just done?! You made that kid go end his life! Now, because of you, he'll die!"

"But, f-father, I was j-j-" the little brown-headed girl tried to talk, but she was immediately interrupted by the father. "No! What you did is absolutely terrible! Have I raised you like this? Huh? What's wrong with you?! Why would you even say that to a boy that has just lost his parents? Do you not have a consciousness?! What would your mother think about you? What would she think about you, huh?!"

The little girl, not because of all of the screaming that he had just, but because of the guilt she started feeling, was now on the verge, and so, without an apparent reason, she too started running towards the exit door.

"Qing'er! Where the fuck do you think you are going?!" The old man tried to stop her, but she was already out of the house somehow. "Father! I-I'll make up for my mystake! I'll bring Mo Fan back!"

And so, she started running towards the direction she saw Mo Fan going. "Don't worry father, I'll surely bring him back!"

"Qing'er! No! It's dangerous!" But the old man's words were futile: she was already out of his sight.

"Fuck!" The old man cursed out loud before beggining to run behind the two little kids. "I came to this weak little dimension to live a peaceful life, not to play the single father with problematic kids!"
