A few minutes earlier, Ailord was temporarily hiding in a narrow alley, observing the Constructs patrolling the middle of the street, looking left and right, searching for criminals and rebels to kill on sight. Occasionally, people were seen peeking from windows, trying to figure out what was going on outside, ready to search for food or drink.
Along the way, Ailord also encountered people doing just that, completely ignoring him, only being cautious in case he was part of the criminals due to his shabby clothing or just a member of the poor community taking advantage of the situation to grab expensive items. Many shops were in ruins, with shelves, tables, drawers, and display cases scattered, glass shards everywhere. Some were even burned to the ground.
