As soon as she entered, Veronica was surprised to observe an interior even more luxurious than the mansions of other high-class nobles. The inside of the palace was on a different level, like looking at a beautiful painting that also gave an unsettling feeling. Although it looked spacious and large, at the same time the palace felt too quiet. Only a few royal maids passed by, and even they didn't greet each other, as if they were only there to work and rush home as soon as they finished.
No one suspected her, even though the palace maids knew each other very well—at least that's how it was with the maids at the Gottlieb mansion.
