A few hours later, after waiting for Tuko who was slightly late because he had to pick up some parts of the Construct to study, they arrived halfway along the road, on a trail wide enough for two carts to pass at once. Along the road, there were many luminescent plants that slowly transformed into beautiful blueish mushrooms, indicating the territory of the dark elves was getting closer.
Helena decided to take a short break there, also giving time for the Whitenight Bats to catch their breath because since leaving Veyrain, they hadn't stopped running. Their bodies were indeed slimmer than the goblins' lizards, but because of that, they were much faster and agile. They could pass through trees as if there was nothing in front of them. However, because of their speed, they had to rest for a moment, or they would risk a heart attack. It was still daylight, while they were nocturnal creatures. In other words, the bats were working beyond their rest hours.
