Slowly, they stepped forward, searching for the source of the sound, unaware of the two people now sitting with their backs against the ruins, covering their mouths and noses to stifle their breaths. Once discovered, they would have no choice but to fight, which was the last thing they wanted because the leaders, especially Nicholas, would immediately know their location.
The shadow of one Construct appeared not far ahead, a sign that it was so close behind them, just a few steps away from finding them hiding, their hearts pounding like war drums.
