Bernard used protective magic, shielding Linda from the impact of leader Helio's attack, which was so powerful that people around them were thrown against the walls. The prophet had disappeared, last seen fleeing through a door not far from the altar. Bernard wanted to give chase, but with Linda behind him, he couldn't just run after him.
Although not weak, Linda's protective magic wasn't very strong given that she's a Sorcerer, a class with strong offensive but weak defensive capabilities.
Two of the five core students lay unconscious and powerless, while the other three struggled against leader Helio, who seemed to be enjoying himself, dodging their attacks with a wide grin and retaliating with just his hands and feet. He didn't need a weapon to face those at the Yellow Core level. To him, if your rank is higher, you should be able to defeat lower-rank opponents with just your bare hands.
