Ailord slowly opened his eyes, hearing the faint sound of engines not far beyond the walls with a smell of copper in the room. As he tried to get up, his arms were cuffed to both sides of the bed, causing a loud noise that seemed to startle someone at the door.
He looked down, sighing in relief because his legs were still free, though they felt so weak. Even to lift them, Ailord was sure he couldn't.
His head hurt so badly, pounding incessantly with no signs of stopping. He hoped he wouldn't turn into something strange, a terrifying monster losing control and killing everything because deep down, hidden under his subconscious, he could feel that intention.
The door opened with the sound of turning metal followed by a loud clang, revealing a large, muscular man with a gentle smile on his face that only made Ailord more wary.
