With their weaponry, both Douma and Chachamaru ran towards Churaka who yelled with his mace that was about to land in their direction.
Douma summoned two ice shards that Churaka dodged narrowly while Chachamaru threw his fist at the giant. Churaka quickly backed away and caught Chachamaru's fist, shoving the feline away from where he was standing.
The mace landed on the floor leaving large cracks on its surface. Douma managed to avoid it on time. A pair of bright wings appeared on the blonde's back which left Churaka bewildered by the sight.
"What's an angel doing here?" Churaka scratched his head, watching Douma fly towards him and attempt to strike the giant with his golden fans.
Oh no you don't. Grabbing his mace, Churaka nearly swatted Douma away. The angel changed his direction seeing how the radius of Churaka's spot was too congested for him to strike again. A better option would be from a distance where the giant was open to any oncoming attack.
Douma's golden fans lit up with the radiating energy they gave off. He focused on the giant who spun around in panic when the blonde disappeared from his peripheral vision. Churaka's opponent was in front of him a second ago, where could he have gone?
Closing in, Douma slashed the back of Churaka's shoulder. The giant clenched the burning spot and gasped from the sharp pain radiating in his muscles.
"Alright time to finish him off!" Chachamaru hopped back into the ring and sprinted towards the fallen giant who was trying to fight off the pain that had taken a toll on his left side.
When Churaka saw Douma preparing another excruciating attack and Chachamaru charging at him, he lifted his mace off the ground and swung the giant weapon at them, causing the feline to lose his balance. Douma had no choice but to halt this next attack, Churaka wasn't down just yet. He had to think of something else.
Chachamaru got up and leaped into the air when Churaka swung his mace at him again. "Granite Crusher!" The feline unleashed an aftershock that traveled towards Churaka who backed away and shielded his face from the raining debris.
While Churaka was adjusting to the dusty environment that formed up in his lair, Chachamaru threw a direct punch at the giant that was met with a large thick arm that got in the way but still left an impact on Churaka's side; a slight bruise that caused him to catch a grip and immediately move his arm away as if it touched a boiling bowl of soup.
Douma's golden fans radiated again as he used the chance to strike Churaka's neck which left a scorching scab that burned his skin for a while. Churaka cried and tried to land a hit on the blonde with his mace but he struggled to maintain his balance from the pain he was feeling in his neck.
The minute Chachamaru raised his fist again, Churaka stood upright and slammed his mace into the floor sending the feline towards the wall behind him.
Alarmed by Churaka's sudden sheer strength that should've been tamed from the extent of their attacks, Douma fired a gust of icy wind at the giant, leaving specks of frost on his elbows, shoulder, and head. His mace caught some frost too which the giant brushed away when he noticed them.
"I'm quite ticklish and the numbness makes it really irritating!" Churaka held his mace firmly, getting ready to swat Douma if he ever comes closer. The giant was treating this fight like a baseball game now. Despite being outnumbered he showed no sign of fear throughout the entire battle.
Seeing Chachamaru crawling from underneath the rubble, Chachamaru grinned and swung his mace at the feline like a bat. Hitting his side and throwing him across the room.
"I think we severely underestimated this guy." Chachamaru rasped, gritting his teeth from the pain on his side.
With Douma getting ready to unleash another similar chilling attack, Churaka got his own hidden power ready. He sprang up and prepared to make a landing with his mace raised above his head.
"Smoldering Peril!" The enormous mace landed on the floor, unleashing burning gases that rose from the surface and erupted in various spots in the room.
A few burning clouds raced towards Douma who hovered in the air preparing for something that will intensify Churaka's anxiousness. I have to reflect this attack if he doesn't have a taste of his own medicine he won't know how ridiculous his strategy is in such a cooped-up area. Douma's eyes turned into slits as the last burning gas was about to rise up from the ground below.
The burning gas was repelled by the invisible force surrounding Douma. That particular scorching ignition traveled to the opposite direction where Churaka was standing followed by a few other ignitions that followed suite.
Stumped by Douma's surreal ability, Churaka grabbed his mace, fingers trembling from how anxious he was feeling. The giant swung his mace at the burning gas approaching directly in front of him which sent it sliding towards Douma who reflected it at Churaka again.
The transmission of the burning gas went on like a never-ending cycle until it collided with the pressure of the atmosphere and imploded.
Chachamaru shook his head and leaped up when he finally got the chance to land another beating on Churaka who spun around and tried to grab the feline but missed.
Still hovering about in the air, the blonde dived towards the giant with his fan directly facing him. The intent of attacking Churaka at the same time which the giant could read from both Chachamaru and the angel. Quickly he grabbed one of the pillars and threw it at the two friends who dashed to each side in between the crumbling pillar and stopped when Churaka leaped right in front of the entrance to the treasure which they happen to be running towards.
"Don't even think of walking in there because if I see you two try to pull off something sneaky like that you'll both be burned to crisp!" Churaka warned them with a manic grin on his face that Douma and Chachamaru found unsettling. They saw him grabbing the lever on the wall beside his thrown "The wrath of the treacherous flame from beneath that engulfs its victims before they can even scream! That would make a nice barbecue party wouldn't it?"
"No it won't you cannibal!" Chachamaru shouted at the giant who seemed displeased by the feline's animosity.
"Hey I was joking, there are no cannibals here. Can't you take a joke?" Churaka lifted a brow and crossed his arms. This feline was always getting on his nerves.
Chachamaru noticed Douma staring at the treasure, holding his chin and clearly thinking of a plan.
"Any ideas we're running out of options here. I don't wanna be burnt to crisp." The feline said to him quietly.
"Yeah and it's quite a risky one but it'll work as long as we're careful with our movements." Douma replied, his voice at the same volume as Chachamaru's.
Churaka watched both Douma and Chachamaru talking amongst themselves quietly. Not even a word that had been uttered by them could be heard. How secretive. "What's with all the backbiting why are you guys leaving me out. This isn't fun." The giant said pathetically.
After they were done with their discussion, Chachamaru nodded and gave Douma a thumbs up. "Leave it to me." He said boldly.
Confused by this act, Churaka yelled and got his mace ready. Both Douma and Chachamaru sprinted towards the giant who slammed his mace into the ground threateningly before repeating the same action again that almost left the floor unrecognizable.
Douma flew up and watched Chachamaru and Churaka throwing punches for a while until the giant saw the angel in the air and attempted to flung him away with his hand to which Douma unleashed another gust of icy wind that left a sharp pain in the bridge of Churaka's nose.
Covering his nose, Churaka gasped and hopped away. The cold was unbearable it was affecting his concentration. Being able to dodge some of the feline's punches was a miracle.
"Grrrrrrr! You'll pay for that-"
"Hey over here! The battle's just started." Chachamaru taunted Churaka who spun around frantically and saw the feline gesturing for him to come closer with a smug smile.
In annoyance, Churaka yelled and stomped towards Chachamaru who backed away when he got close. Douma watched the fight between Chachamaru and Churaka unfold, things were going according to plan. The blonde then flew towards the treasure behind the throne, leaving Chachamaru to deal with the obstacle that was out of the way.
