Chapter 73 - Chapter 73

On the ground were the two plant-like creatures that kept swaying around while the other three creatures scurrying on the walls resembled rodents but with more teeth. They each had a desire to tear their targets to shreds, the one they've encountered wasn't going to let that happen.

Immediately, Douma fired his two ice shards at the gathering organisms. The rodent-like creatures jumped out of the area while the plant-like organisms struggled to fight off the impact of the icy ignition that landed in front of them before regaining their composure, without a scratch.

That's when one of the crippled plants stretched out from where they stood and grabbed onto Douma, pushing him towards the wall of the abomination of a dimension.

"These things still have a lot of strength despite the earlier attacks." Douma wasn't surprised but he never expected these organisms to put up a fight.

With his fan out of the way from the hold the plant had on the shrine leader, Douma summoned a wave of frost that covered the plant in ice and caused it to shatter into pieces.

Although one of the creatures were down, the other crippled plant reenacted the same attack as Douma hopped out of the way and got ready to deal with the three morbid rats that crawled towards him on the walls and ceiling with their saliva leaking out of the corners of their teeth. They were desperately hungry for a long-awaited battle.

Douma moved aside as the three creatures jumped towards him. Getting his fans out, Douma shoved one of the creatures to the ground and kicked the last one towards the ceiling with the same incomprehensible force. The creature splattered on the ceiling upon impact, staining it with its blood.

The remaining opponents gathered on the ground once again and fired their beams at Douma creating a cloud of smoke in the air before the shrine leader dove towards them slashing his golden fans at every one of them in less than a second. The morbid rats dragged themselves out of the way but found the scars on their bodies increasing every time they moved an inch.

Just like Nebulas' skin, puncturing these creatures required a little more effort. Those inexperienced with fighting these opponents would have a hard time dealing damage to a whole lot of them at once. Douma didn't have to deal with that problem, however they always came back from the fast repairment they could do with their bodies and the regeneration they had only made it easier for them.

As expected, the creatures rose from the ground again, this time the crippled plants had turned into a larger and fierce version of themselves. The morbid rats raced towards the walls planning their next attack.

"Can't you guys just stay dead already?" Douma sprinted towards the giant plant monster getting ready to demolish it in just one slash.

But the giant plant monster read his movements and launched its extended limbs at the approaching shrine leader in an attempt to get him off balance. Douma grabbed the vines, preventing them from getting away. The vines in his grip would make it easier for him to unleash another large-scale attack that would leave the giant plant monster open to any unavoidable damage.

There was something he needed to take note of, and that was to avoid using an attack that would send this gruesome world to the depths, there's a high chance it would affect Earth since Nebulas unleashed this place in the middle of a clearing right beside an industrial area. It wouldn't be wise to finish off these opponents without taking the state of the surroundings into consideration.

The two scurrying creatures on the wall started moving towards Douma, at the same time the giant plant monster was getting ready to fire its beam at him.

In a flash, Douma disappeared from the spot causing the unleashed glowing purple beam to strike the two monsters sending them off the ground but not enough to vaporize them completely.

Without the giant plant monster even realizing, Douma still had a hold on its vines. Douma lifted the creature from the ground and threw it at the wall while the two creatures scurried towards him.

They were agile but very careless as their bites and gnaws at the air gave Douma the leeway to soar above them and fire a gust of frost towards them that stunned them for a while.

The giant plant monster returned and stretched its upper torso at the shrine leader who blocked it with his fan that was in between the jaw among the several ones on the creature's body.

While the giant plant monster was struggling to land a bite on the shrine leader, Douma used the time to telepathically freeze its nerves. Slowly, the ice took over the giant plant monster's mind, causing it to shiver and snap from the unbearable pain coursing through its body. The vines fell limp to the ground and it reluctantly released its grip on the shrine leader's fan.

But it wasn't over yet, the giant plant monster had accumulated its remaining energy in the shriveled mess that it was now. Despite losing a portion of its body which includes its head and shoulders, the giant plant monster was still eager to carry on with the fight.

Douma's eyes stopped glowing he couldn't help but pity the creature that was still willing to fight in that kind of state.

Lifting up his foot, Douma slammed it into the creature that barely had time to react to the next oncoming attack and defend itself. The giant plant monster exploded into pieces leaving a pile of its remains on the ground.

The other two creatures screeched at him and ran towards their target. Douma blocked their claw swipes with his fans, consecutively repeating the same wielding action. These two creatures were eager to land a hit on the shrine leader and at the speed he was moving at, it was only going to continue on until something is done. Not like Douma wanted to carry on with this anyway.

Douma looked up and observed the walls of this strange place. An idea sparked in his mind and he was confident it will work.

Knowing the creatures' tendency to tumble and trip as well as their slow reactions. They wouldn't notice a flying fan coming their way. Douma raised his fan and got ready to throw it at the corner of the wall on his right.

The fast regenerative abilities of the walls meant that the fan would likely bounce off at the speed it travels and fly straight towards the unexpecting creatures, slicing them in one hit.

Douma threw his fan at the corner of the wall while the creatures continued lashing out at him, unaware of what he just did.

Smiling slyly, Douma leaped into the air and watched as the fan bounced off the wall that immediately regenerated upon contact with the it and flew towards the two creatures that only noticed it a second before they each got sliced into two, landing on the ground lifeless.

The shrine leader caught his fan and continued moving forward.

"That giant pest has to be here somewhere this is almost the end of this disastrous place."

A familiar figure emerged from the shadows and watched the blonde coming to a stop.

"I could sense the brain freeze. There's never been any disturbances like that in my world. So you're going to have to pay for that but not in the way you think." Nebulas cracked his knuckles and got ready to lunge at the shrine leader. "Since you're being such a nuisance in my world, I'll teach you what it means to cause trouble at the cost of your own life, starting now."

"Don't be crazy, I've kicked your butt multiple times already." Douma responded which made Nebulas furious at how calm and unfazed the blonde was despite his stern warning.

Nebulas spun into a spiked ball, the same tactic he used back in the forest. Douma got ready as the spiked ball rolled towards him.

Once it got close, Douma blocked the spiked ball and pushed it away. Nebulas sprung up and dashed towards the shrine leader, throwing his fists at his opponent several times before backing away.

Douma flew towards the corner. Looks like he's not thinking at all, something's coming up and it's going to decimate this whole place if he doesn't put a thought to it. Not like he ever does but this is incredibly foolish.

The same purple energy formed in front of Nebulas as he compiled all his power into the source under his control.

"Elizer Cannon!"

The purple cannon bolted towards Douma who unleashed an iridescent source of energy in between his eyes that glowed the same spiral of colors.

"Adamant Ray!" Douma fired his iridescent ray at the purple cannon. Both sources of power clashed with each other causing the entire place to shake and collapse.

The strange world was turning into shambles as bits and pieces from the walls and ceilings fell. Cracks started forming on the surface of the walls and ground, splitting the world into numerous lost pieces that disappeared after coming into contact with the force of power that had been unleashed.

Every creature crawled up to safety but was met with a brutal lightened source that devoured them in an instant, leaving nothing but a barren place that was slowly crumbling away revealing the view of the clearing.

It wasn't long until this strange world exploded from the impact of the different powers clashing with each other, the clearing being the battleground once again.
