When Shizune heard the voice coming from outside the carriage, she spoke in a low voice to Lina sitting opposite her, as if she had made a decision.
"You already know what you have to do, don't you? Remember what you said, if we run into trouble, I'll pretend to be you and get you out of danger? Now's the time, and since you're introducing yourself to everyone as me, you'll probably be fine. They won't care about a little servant girl like me while they take care of you and I can run away."
For a brief moment Lina was surprised to hear the cruel words coming out of Shizune's mouth and to see the emotionless eyes staring back at her. But she knew that her master was right, that this was the excuse she had used to follow her out of the mansion. Wasn't that the whole point of her always introducing herself as Shizune vi Ironblood when going to the adventurers' guild or leaving the city in the first place?
