Chapter 86 - Mourning

I saw bile rise in my father's throat, Alex rose with anger, he pushed all of the guards down; glaring at them. 

"Leave." He had said, and I watched every single one of these people disappear into nothingness. 

Alex looked back at me, his gaze full of a guilty conscience. As if he was the wrong one. But that only made me feel worse! Was he doing this on purpose? 

"I- I am sorry- My powers are a bit violent, I've been having a hard time controlling them."

I had thought this man would be angry or at least annoyed at me but what he showed me only increased the pit of feelings in my heart.

He gave me the brightest smile he could, showing me all his white teeth, but none of it looked weird-just funny. 

My stoic expression broke into an ever so slight smile, unable to understand this man.

Alex's gaze held me, conflicted. His face was marked by sorrow, but his words sang another song. Stinging me like an accusation.
