The ash-grey forests blurred past me as I dashed through, my feet crushing the crisp, dead leaves beneath me. The twisted trees, stripped of life, clawed at the sky, while boulders, charred and crumbled, scattered the path like fallen monuments. The air was thick with decay, a heavy reminder of just how much time I had lost.

I cursed under my breath. I was late. All because of Mankew and his stupid antics.

My fists clenched as I pushed forward, the anger bubbling under my skin. The thirst for blood gnawed at me, reminding me of how long it had been since I last indulged. If it hadn't been for that damned auction, I would have had my fill by now.

But instead, I'd wasted time with trivial matters while my so-called 'party' ventured into this mess without me.
