Chapter 2 - The Flight

"Am I dead yet?" She asks.

She sits up and sees that she is looking out the window of a plane.

She turns to her left.

There is a handsome man sitting right next to her.

"Woah!" She panics. The man sits up and looks at her.

He mutters something in what she can guess is Chinese and stands up.

Her eyes widen.

'Oh my. He's got cake!'

She stares at his butt in his tight fitting jet black pants.

Sure his muscular chest in the tight black shirt was a sight to see, but she was more concerned with the package on his rear end following him to the back of the plane.

'A bathroom.'

She stands and observes her surroundings. It seems he is the only one there. Guess the Chinese government thought she wasn't too hard to subdue.

They thought right.

As she starts to get up to walk around she realizes she is hand cuffed to the chair.

"Guess I will have to wait for him to return."

When the handsome man came back he plopped down on those glorious cheeks of his.

"Where are you taking me." Cory demands. "What do you want with me?"

"China." He says simply. "You are going to do some tasks for us."

She starts to say something, but was cut off by the handsome man applying pressure to an acupuncture point, knocking our protagonist out immediately.

When she wakes up she is in a room and there is a computer opened up, a cold barrel of an assault weapon pressed against her cranium.

She may have been lucky enough to survive being shot in the chest and a car crash, but she wasn't lucky enough to survive an automatic weapon to her brain!

"Code a virus. The best one you can make." The man demands after taking his hand away from his ear.

Noticing the small headphone in his ear she concludes that this situation is not as simple as what lies on the surface. She begins typing up code. As she codes, she adds a back door in hopes that just incase this was used against her country, they can find the safe guard she left in the code.

Unwarned, the gun fires and her body falls off of the chair. Red paints her vision before the world fades into a pastel light purple.

She floats in nothingness for an hour before coming to.

"Where am I?"

She looks down at her hands.

She was several shades lighter than she was before, pale swallow red-brown, she noted.

A portal pops up in front of her showing her reflection.

She notes the smoother features and the wide blue-black doe eyes. And notibly, blue-black hair, subtle wavy curves that tumble down her back. If Cory would have realized it, she would have noticed Yan Ling's and her shared features. The only difference was their hair type and skin tones.

A small light appears.

A woman forms from the light in golden and white splendor. Adorning snow white skin and golden white hair that falls to the ground, a white and gold robe flowing around her silhouette.

"Hei Yan Ling, youngest disciple of the Bird Fairy Clan, You have been punished for 2000 years for breaking time and space."

The woman turns into a phoenix and flies off.

"But I didn't do anything!" She yells exasperatedly but no words escape, a barrier seems to stop her from controlling her own body. Before she knows it she starts to fall, plummeting to the Earth from the Heavens.

As she falls her jade bracelet lights up and a hologram appears from it.

•Survive the fall •Die and never reincarnate

"What the hell kind of option is that! Survive!" She yells pushing the button, finding she can control herself again.

Just as she gets close to the ground she transforms into a ball of light and a flash of feathers, gliding down and falling through the branches of a tree.

By the time she comes to, she finds she has crashed onto the lap of a cute-faced man.

His large doe eyes stare straight into Cory's with interest. A small white face framed by a curtain of long black hair gives him the appearance of an innocent bunny.

"Oh, it is a swallow." The young man says cradling her body.

He stands, his hair swaying gently like a river as he walks, his hands emit a warmth that gives Cory comfort in this new world.

Memories throw themselves at her like professional divers.

The glowing woman from before smiling at her. Turning her head, a mirror appears into her vision. A younger version of her new appearance stares back at her.

"Hei Yan Ling, wake up."

Surely the original Yan Ling wouldn't mind her fudging up his life.

Cory finds herself sitting down on a cold sandalwood table. She sees a young man with a fresh and bright appearance taking a bit of his old clothes, he piles them in a circle and puts Cory's body, or shall we say Hei Yan Ling's body down in the pile.

Seeing his innocent appearance as he fluffs up the clothes, Cory feels a waver in her heart.

'This man isn't bad to look at.' Cory concluded.

"You are right." A voice sounded next to her.

Next to Cory was a ghostly version of the body she was in. The humanoid figure stares back at her and she stares in return.

'Huh!' She thinks, shaken. 'Where did this ghost come from!'

"First off I'm a spirit, not a ghost. Ghosts are dead humans. Second, this is my body, so you listen to me." He then furrows his eyebrows. "It seems our souls are linked. Perhaps we are one and the same halves from different worlds. So when you died it forced your soul into my body."

'So you are me from this world?' She asks Yan Ling.

"Yes. It would seem so." He says. "You're a guy now. So it would make sense to address yourself with male pronouns from now on."

"But I don't want to be a man." Cory pouts.

Yan Ling shrugs and disappears back into Cory's Consciousness.

"Wow you are suddenly active. Are you feeling better after your fall?" The pretty man asks.

'So I need to talk in my head to converse with you.'

"Yup."

'And he can't hear you?'

"That is correct." Yan Ling's voice echos.

Cory shakes the clothes off of herself and finds herself falling to the ground once again.

"Oh no!" The man says.

He reaches out to catch Cory just as Cory transforms into Yan Ling's humanoid form.

"You're not a bird!" The young man exclaims backing away dropping Cory.
