[This is a work of fiction. Anything resembling real world is purely coincidence.]
Seitsuki Ichikawa might seem like a normal high school student, but that depends on one's perspective. He likes to read Isekai Fantasy Manga and watch anime. The rest of his life is quite average, and he is likely unaware of other hobbies. That is what everyone around him thinks.
He is the mastermind behind everything happening in his domain. No one ever won in a psychological competition with him. He manipulates people for his own entertainment. That's how he thinks of himself. While he isn't entirely wrong, he still has delusions anyway.
"Another isekai protag coming fresh from truck-kun." Seitsuki muttered. "And this is finished too, let's look for something new." He thought before he went out to buy a new comic from the nearest book store.
While crossing the road - the last thing he saw - the sight of truck-kun. "Wait! Wait, it can't be right, right?!"
"What? Why am I covered in blood? I can't move a single muscle. What is this? Is this death?" He opened his eyes and saw a girl from the truck smiling and saying, "Farewell, Seitsuki. We shall meet again in no time! After all this is 'True Fate'."
"Who was she? How does she know my name?" The last words of Seitsuki were spoken calmly and his eyes closed... forever. Or did they? Things happened so fast and the last thing he saw was a creepy girl smiling mercilessly.
He woke up and his heart was pounding like a bicycle that got hit by a bullet train from the back. "What an unrealistic yet vivid dream."
"For our next report, an accident occurred when a truck hit a school student on Road 109. The victim was spotted dead and the driver was taken into police custody." The news on TV grabbed Seitsuki's attention, because it was where he died in his dream. Could it be possible? Had he really... died?
"Wait- this is me!? But I am here standing, breathing and alive." Words burst out of him. "Am I dreaming again?"
"I need to calm down first, somethings up." After calming down enough, he looked at his surroundings. "It must the chuunibyou or whatever they were talking about. Nothing is unusual."
"Well, something is unusual. I don't know where I am." --Sudden Pause--
"There is a table, I might find something. Come to your senses, idiot! What is normal to think when you are somewhere- you don't recognize even the slightest. Did I get kidnapped? That would normally make sense but the news? Well, I didn't look at the TV very clearly and started panicking. At least, I am not dreaming, I think. When people get kidnapped, they try to escape, it is the most logical thing to do right now. But 'why, who, how' questions are also raising. That can wait before the kidnapper finds out I am awake-"
"Oh my, what are you babbling about?" An unknown person giggled behind the table's shadow.
Seitsuki looked at the voice source, "Who is there?"
The person said while coming forward, "Have you already forgotten me?" Revealing her face.
"Who are you agai-" Seitsuki stopped in the middle when the girl smiled at her. "That creepy smile. You are that girl from... So, it was no dream after all!?"
While the fear in his eyes multiplied- The girl's smile widened, sending shivers down Seitsuki's spine. "I told you we would meet again, Seitsuki," she said softly, her voice carrying an otherworldly tone. "And now, here we are."
"How am I supposed to escape this nightmare? I can't handle this; the strings are becoming more entangled." He was about to faint.
Seitsuki's mind reeled with fear and confusion as the girl's words echoed in his ears. "Escape... nightmare..." He muttered, his voice barely a whisper.
As the girl's smile widened even more, Seitsuki felt as though invisible hands were tightening around his throat, suffocating him with dread. "Our destinies shall cross paths again. Not very soon next time." The girl's words were heard by him for the last time... again.
"This was not your desired destiny." An artificial voice whispered in his ears as he fainted... or worse! His world faded to black.
Seitsuki jumped from the bed before his whole body woke up. His heart was pounding like a pudding got blasted while being hydraulically pressured. "What is dream? What is reality anymore? Doctors and psychiatrists can't help me anymore. I am a lost case." Seitsuki looked around. "Am I home? I think I am. Can I even think anything anymore?"
"Looks like I overdid it. But it wasn't that bad compared to what we went through. Is he eligible now?" That girl from before questioned. "He is, Amara. Your creepy smile even creeps me out. He is stronger in this sense. You got no excuses there. Looks like he is having trouble even trusting his own thoughts." Amara smiled cutely. "Is this better?"
"Well, how soothing it is makes it even scarier that you can smile creepily too. It probably even creeps out the word 'creep'."
"Does he realize, it is another world?" Amara asked. The person behind the shadows eyed. "What am I, a psychic? Go ask him yourself."
"What is Seitsuki going to do in this otherworldly world? He is not home, technically. What are Amara's true intentions? Who is she? Where are they?..." Words were getting written in the book of Mythqs.
"I can't care about anything now. I'll just read the comic I bought." He started reading the comic book he was holding tightly in his hands. The manipulator is being manipulated himself!
"In this otherworld, no one will realize when they reach here. They confronted their fear and passed the test. They are the chosen one. They shall now do what they were meant to do. The guest said-"
"I need to get stronger. I desired unparalleled power. Now I must claim it here-"
"The otherworld guest was killed that instant. Not everyone is suitable for this world." The first chapter was briefly summarized.
"Was I subconsciously also looking for information in any wisdom so I started reading this? But it can't be- this is my world..." Seitsuki fell in bed from tiredness.
