I know this is one of those moments where I'm supposed to say "I have to stop this from happening, I can't let these psychos go through with this," but in all reality, I couldn't have cared less about any of that. All I knew was that I had to get out of here, and I had to do it soon.
I made my way out of the large crowd that was around me, and I decided to start brainstorming some ways I could get out of here. I remembered the stone age, everything I went through there, and the events leading up to my escape. The eye took me back home when I was in harm's way, so maybe it would do it again. I decided I would put myself in an unwinnable dangerous situation that would make the eye have no choice but to take me back home, foolproof right?
I walked around the streets on my own for a while as I decided my next move. I mean, how was I gonna get myself in a situation that dangerous again? And then it hit me, I was gonna have to make myself a threat, someone that would almost have to be killed. I figured the repercussions of whatever I did here would all be irrelevant anyway, I mean, I was gonna be back home eventually, right?
I walked down the streets longer, looking for trouble to cause and hell to raise, then I saw him. A police officer standing next to his car seemed to be just making sure nobody was going crazy during the festival. It also seemed like my perfect opportunity. I called the police officer "Officer! Officer! My brother is about to jump off a building, please, please help me." The officer replied, "Okay, ma'am, I need you to calm down. Where is he?"
I really didn't know where I was even going with this, and it was around this moment I started regretting leading with the damsel in distress trick, but eh, I was already in too deep. I hugged the police officer tightly and put on some more fake tears, "I don't know what I'm gonna do, please help him." Right at this moment, I was close enough, I looked at his holster, made sure I was in position, and grabbed the gun right as I was releasing the hug. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" the man yelled.
I started to freeze. I had the gun in my hand, all I had to do was point and shoot, but something in me was preventing me from doing it. The man rushed at me, ready to tackle me, before he could get to me. I closed my eyes and pulled the trigger. BAM, the city's atmosphere suddenly changed. The cheers turned to screams, and the laughter turned into fear. When I opened my eyes, the man was at my feet, holding his stomach and groaning. I decided to finish the job. I shot him in the head and took his life almost instantly. I'd later feel bad about this, but not now, now I had to figure out what my next move would be.
I waited, standing in front of the body, for reinforcements to arrive. Soon enough, they did, 4 police cars identical to that of the man I just killed sped to the scene. "Put your hands where I can see them!" one yelled. "Drop the gun!" yelled another. I knew I had to do the opposite of what their commands were in order to create a scenario in which the eye would have to take me home, so I did. Without hesitation, I pointed the gun at one of the officers and fired. I missed. Shortly after, a cop shot at me, he missed. "Take cover!" I heard one of them yell.
I did the same. I ran to take cover, behind the car of the police officer I had just killed, while officers shot at me from behind. I sat behind the back of the police car as the other cops shot at me from behind. I could feel their bullets against the car and even heard one of them break a window. I realized I might as well come out from under the car and try to get a few shots in before the eye took me back home, it's not like they could harm me before it did.
I got up from behind the car and began to fire shots back at the police, then it happened. I felt a burning sensation in my right shoulder, a sensation that grew more painful by the second. I let out a grunt of agony and quickly got back behind the car. I look at my shoulder to see blood coming from my deltoid. I had been shot. I realized that the eye wasn't gonna get me out of this one, and I very much was capable of dying in this moment. I panicked, I slowly crawled to the door of the police car, opened it, and got myself inside. Luckily the key was in the car, and I was able to start it myself. I shut the door of the car and sped off as cops yelled and shot at the car in the distance.
I was filled with adrenaline, so much that I was able to drive the car without even thinking about the immense pain I felt in my shoulder. I heard sirens coming from behind me, they sounded just a bit different from how they sounded back home. I looked in my rearview mirror to see what had to have been at least half a dozen police cars speeding behind me, I was in an all-out chase. I continued to speed and make turn after turn, hoping to lose the cops, but I couldn't.
As the pain in my shoulder got worse and worse, the more I knew I couldn't drive much longer. I came to terms that I was about to spend the rest of my life in a 2348 prison. Just at this moment, the unthinkable happened. I heard loud explosions coming from behind me, so loud they shook the car and the ground beneath me. My hearing suddenly went away, all I could hear was a sharp ring in both ears, everything else sounded foggy. I stopped the car and froze for a second as I tried to process everything that had just happened. I turned around to see all of the cars that had been chasing me on fire. I looked closely into the window of one that was directly behind me to see the burning, charred body of a police officer. It moved but barely.
I turned back around and laid the back of my head on the car seat. I could feel myself beginning to faint. I looked at my shoulder and saw I was losing a significant amount of blood. My vision was starting to get blurry. Just as I was about to pass out, the door of the car opened. I couldn't get a good look at the person who opened it. All I saw was that they were covered in black clothing. They began to pull me out of the cop car. I tried to resist, but I was too weak. As they pulled me out of the car, everything went dark.
