Chapter 50 - The Monolith

The figure stepped fully out of the shadows, revealing a young woman with an air of quiet defiance. Her face, pale and unblemished, held a stoicism that bordered on coldness. Her gaze fell upon Eleanor, then swept over the others, her dark eyes heavy with an emotion they couldn't decipher.

The air crackled with a tension that was thick enough to choke on. The five allies; Eleanor, Barnaby, Jacob, Michael and Abigael stared, their initial fear morphing into a disbelief so profound it bordered on stupor.

"Who are you?" Eleanor demanded, her voice a mix of apprehension and disbelief. "And what have you done with Serafina?"

The young woman remained silent for a moment, her gaze fixed on the celestial orb pulsating in Eleanor's hand. Finally, she spoke, her voice surprisingly melodic yet devoid of warmth. "I am Xol'thul."
