Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Ride The Wave Well (6)

Of course, I'm here to help. Let's continue from where we left off:

---

At the point when we emerged to the square, Iselle was dragging the other three out of the lodging.

"[Get out, I said get out! When the Expert returns, you need to be in the square. Why aren't you listening to me? Do you want to get scolded?]" Iselle's voice echoed with frustration.

I raised my gaze to the ceiling. Strictly speaking, there was no ceiling in the training area; instead, a faint gray sky floated overhead. This sky would shimmer brightly with a golden light when the Expert entered. Besides displaying messages, I could also gather information through this display.

"Are you trying to make us fight again? I don't like it, I can't stand it!" one of the members protested.

"D-Do you want money? I've got money at home! Let me go back! I'm tired of eating just potatoes!" another pleaded desperately.

"Oh, I'm really going crazy!" Iselle's frustration reached its peak.

In a fit of anger, Iselle threw a straight punch, like a flame shooting from her delicate hand.

"Kwaaak!" The impact of the punch sent one of them staggering backwards.

"Hey, I'm busy with other stuff, you know? Let's make it clear: come out now, or it will be your last day here!" Iselle's threat hung in the air.

The three exchanged uncomfortable glances but eventually complied, joining us in the square, blood staining the ground beneath their noses.

"Is it over?" Toby asked tentatively.

"I don't know," Jenna replied, her expression determined. "If he doesn't come back in a month..."

"What happens if the Expert doesn't come back in a month?" Toby pressed.

"I don't know. We'll have to wait and see," Jenna said with a sigh.

We returned to our routine training sessions, honing our skills and preparing for whatever challenges lay ahead. But tensions were running high, and it was clear that something needed to change.

Jenna and I faced each other in the training ground, ready to continue our practice.

"Are you really okay?" I asked, concerned.

"I'm fine," Jenna replied firmly, gripping her bow tightly.

I tapped my shield with the wooden blade, preparing for our practice session. It was clear that both Jenna and I needed more practical training.

"You could get injured, you know?" I reminded her.

"As long as I don't die, it's fine," Jenna replied confidently.

Despite the pain and challenges, we pressed on with our training. We knew that it was essential for our survival in this world.

And as we trained, I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead for us. Would we ever escape from this place? Or were we destined to remain trapped here forever?

Only time would tell. But for now, all we could do was focus on becoming stronger and facing whatever challenges came our way.
