Ruin's heart clenched in horror as he watched the scene unfold before him. He could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins as he desperately tried to shout a warning to Homura, but his voice caught in his throat.
Time seemed to slow as the phoenix emerged from its ashes, its claws extending towards Homura with deadly precision. Ruin could see the shock and pain in her eyes as the claws pierced through her stomach, a gut-wrenching sight that made his blood run cold.
"No!" Ruin finally managed to scream, his voice filled with anguish and despair as he watched helplessly, knowing that he was too late to save her. But his legs were not listening to him as he continued running despite his injuries towards Homura, determined to do anything to save her.
However, when he got close to Homura, she smiled at him as she mouthed the words "sorry" before sending a burst of flames towards his direction. The force flung him in the opposite direction as she suddenly burst into a violent explosion. However due to her overexertion, the explosion was not as strong as it was supposed to be.
"This can't be happening, Homura, please come back. I'm begging you, please come back. Come on, you're the strongest, you can't die!" Ruin shouted out in sorrow as streams of tears flowed down his face, but all his cries echoed in the cave, remaining unanswered.
But that was not the end of Ruin's ordeal.As when the explosion cleared, he saw the half-dead phoenix starting to heal itself, locking its eyes on Ruin with malicious intent. "No, I won't die. Homura sacrificed her life for me, and I refuse to die!" He shouted out in defiance. His beaten and battered body somehow managed to get upright as he staggered towards the pedestal. Somehow, he felt it held the key to escaping this hellish nightmare.
Miraculously, he managed to evade the phoenix and reach the pedestal. Placing a hand on it desperately hoping for something to happen but to his utter dismay everything suddenly turned inverted, and he saw his decapitated body with the phoenix behind it, an evil glint in its eyes before everything turned dark.
