Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Greatest Assassin....Is A Retail Worker?

He had never lost once. He was considered superhuman. He was called "The Greatest Assassin".

Kasady Worthy.

At 15 years old he assassinated multiple world figures, took down big names in the assassin business, and had already completed hundreds of missions considered impossible.

By the time he was an adult, no single man held even a candle to him. After 13 years of killing people, he grew bored.

He had no challenge or worthy people to fight, and always completed every mission with a 100% success rate. This lack of challenge made him grow bored with his life.

"I'm tired of this."

He walked out of this killer business and never looked back.

<5 Years Later>

"Thank you...come again!"

He scanned the items with a swift motion and bagged them even faster. He handed them to the next customer waiting in line.

Employee of the month, year, and decade.

Kasady Worthy.

The world's greatest assassin was working in retail and was doing a hell of a good job. For the past 4 years, he had been working here and just laying low.

"Kasady. My office, now."

He turned to look at the pale man, "A-Alright boss."

In his office his boss just looked at him, clicking his pen while chewing some gum slowly.

His boss glared at him, squinting his eyes more and more. "Who the hell are you?"

"What....What do you mean?"

"Hm.....Kasady...you do a fine job here. Perfectly. Almost too perfect. You said you never worked a job in your life but came here and was working like a vet. It's been 4 years now and you've never once even complained, asked for a raise, or even a damned promotion."

"Well...sir, I—Just like to work I guess."

His boss wasn't buying it.

"Just like to work?.....Kasady. You are a hard man to crack. Those red eyes are hiding something behind them. Well, sorry for this odd talk. It's weird to call you all the way here for this."

"No, boss—it's fine. I completely understand you. I can be a bit of a weirdo sometimes. But, about that raise..."

"....Dismissed."

--

Walking back home, Kasady just rested his hands in his pockets and looked at the sky.

"No. This is better. I like this better. Killing people is boring. This is the real me, I'm not born to kill, I'm....I'm much more than that."

--

"It's been a long time hasn't it?..."

the man sipped some whiskey from his glass, looking out the window of his large corporation building.

"Yes, it has. What did you call me for, sir?"

He rotated his chair to look the man in the eyes.

"Agony. That man. No, can he even be considered that? That demon, that Sovereign of death, we've found him"

Agony is shocked, he clutches his fist and clinches his jaw.

"You've...found him?"

Agony runs over to the desk in front of him, slamming his hands down.

"Sir! Let me handle this! I need to kill him! I must be the one to handle this!"

"Kill?....KEHAHAHAHA! Hundreds of thousands have tried to kill this man. And you think you can? A tiger is still a tiger, with or without the claws. It doesn't matter how long it's been since he's fought or killed. He's still a 5-star target and agent."

"Sir Gudar—I CAN! I CAN KILL HIM! Let me do it!"

Gudar folded his arms and leaned back a bit after sitting his whiskey down.

"You're serious about this huh?"

Agony nodded his head, before lifting his shirt to reveal a huge scar. It looked as if it took a long time to fully heal.

"He did this to me. For months I was in pure agony. I felt like demons were stabbing me. He sliced my stomach open and even used poison on me. It was pure hell. I had nightmares for years because of him. I can't possibly let a single man get a hold of him before I do."

Gudar raised his eyebrow at the reveal of his scar.

"I see you're serious," Gudar spoke. "Alright, I'll let you go after him. But, expect to fail. Or die even. Because that man is no ordinary man."

--

"Man, my ear itches...is someone talking about me," Kasady said.

He opened the front door to his small apartment and took off his shoes by the door.

"Home sweet home."

The sharp glare of something reflective meets his eye.

Kasady quickly rolls forward and gets back up on his feet.

Walking out of the shadows, a man wearing a regular all-black get-up and a mask stands before Kasady.

The man in the mask spoke, "Mr. Worthy himself. The greatest of all time. Oh, how I despise you."

Kasady was confused, "I don't even know you?~"

"You will soon enough."

He rushed at Kasady, their fist meeting one another.

Blood flies from the man's cheek.

He had been cut somehow.

'What the....how....he doesn't even have anything in his hand...I don't think!' The masked man's thoughts ran wild.

Kasady removed his work shirt, underneath a muscle shirt. The muscle shirt hugged his lean and ripped physique.

The sharp glare of his crimson-red eyes struck fear into the masked man's heart.

"You slick little bastard. It's been a while since I've done this, so I'm a bit rusty. But if this is what you want, I'll be sure to give it to you. Look's like you've flipped my switch."

Kasady had used the pen in his pocket as a sharp object to strike the anonymous man's face.

The masked man removes his mask, "Once a monster, always a monster. Do you remember me now?"

".....nope."

"W-What?...you don't?! Seriously?!"

"Not at all.....you look so forgettable."

"Dammit..well you'll know once I kill you!"

Strike after strike was being thrown, each one holding immense power behind them. Kasady looked unbothered, bored even as he blocked and dodged the rapid blow of attacks.

'Who is this guy, he knows me but I don't know him. He even showed his face.'

Kasady did a spinning back kick to his solar plexus, the kick felt like a sack of bricks hitting him all at once. The pain knocked him unconscious and back awake in seconds.

'This guy...he's not human at all. What type of fucking kick was that?....can I—beat a guy like him?'

Agony groveled on the floor, holding his abdomen in pain.

"Seriously?... I barely even kicked you that hard."

'Barely kicked me that hard?....is this guy fucking playing with me?' Agony stayed on the ground, not getting up for anything.

"I don't know why you came here, I don't know who you are, but I will kill you for even daring to break into my home."

Agony clenches his jaw and looks up at Kasady in pain.

"My....My name is Agony. I got that name after being put through 6 months of pure agony all....because...of...you!"

Kasady acts surprised, "Aww...don't care."

Kasady picks up the knife Agony dropped.

"I guess I'll use this."

He made slashes so fast it made strong and loud swishing sounds, blood gushed from Agony's chest.

"For Christ's sake. Now, I gotta clean this up."
