Chapter 11 - Family

"I'm really exhausted. Gosh! My fingers ache so much." Aurora lamented to her bestie. She had just gotten back from Tina's house to meet Katie waiting for her.

"I warned you against agreeing to such ridiculous idea but you're too stubborn to listen." Katie stated, rolling her eyes.

"I told you that Tina of a girl is a she-devil! Out of everything that a servant does, what she could ask you to do for her as the first task is to clean up her toenails and wash her feet? Yuck!" Katie spat out in disgust.

"Really disgusting! I did pedicure, manicure, even hair care. I washed her hair after washing her dirty feet. She had just got back from running in the woods. I even massaged her!" Aurora said and hissed.

"So, are you pissed off already? Are you now willing to involve somebody who can pull you out of this mess?" Katie inquired.

"Yes, I'm pissed off but no I'm not going to involve anybody to help me. This is my business and I'm going to find a way to get out of this mess. She can't use me as a servant for a whole week. I won't allow her." Aurora maintained.

"If I can't even deal with my age mate all by myself, then how can I become a warrior that I have been training to be? I swear i'm going to deal with Tina all by myself. And I won't let her treat me like trash before doing that." She added, with a tone of finality.

Just then, Aurora's parents got back from their outing and entered the house.

"What happened to you? How did you get injured?" Selene shouted immediately she laid eyes on Aurora.

"It was during my training, mom. I'm better now though. It isn't hurting me as it looks." She replied her mother.

"You really have to take it easy on yourself over this training of a thing. You know you don't have your wolf yet and you won't heal faster like others, so you have to take it easy." Matthew stated firmly.

"You see, Matthew. This is what I was warning her against. That was why I grounded her yet she won't listen. It's not as if you're one of the pack's warriors, so why this much trouble?" Selene said, frowning.

"Mom, speaking on that, I actually want to join the pack's group of warriors. That's why I have been training hard. I want to be a warrior just like you. I want to make you proud." Aurora revealed.

"My dear, you're already making me proud. And nobody is saying you can't be a warrior but wait till you get your wolf. Rigorous training that you're doing bring injuries and it's only when you have a wolf that you can heal faster. I hate seeing you in bruises everytime, some of them are going to leave scars on you since you're wolfless for now, if you keep it up." Selene informed her.

"Please, listen to me." She added, compassionately.

"Okay, Mom, it's fine. I'm going to be extra careful henceforth. You can be rest assured." She promised her mother and hugged her.

"See, I told you she's going to listen to you." Matthew said to his wife, all smiles.

"I pray she truly does." Selene said and chuckled.

"Hey darling, stay around for dinner, okay. I'm preparing a special delicacy for dinner as the twins are coming back today, from where they went to spend the holiday." Selene said to Katie and entered the kitchen.

"Oh, that's fantastic. Let me come and help you." Katie said, following suit.

"Aurora, Come and give me a hand, here. Let's do a little decoration in the living room. Can you do that despite your injuries?" Matthew asked her.

"Yes, dad. I can manage." She replied and they went ahead to start the decoration.

The twins were Aurora's 16-year-old siblings. They had gone to visit their aunt in a neighboring pack after celebrating their sixteenth birthday.

"No, seriously, you guys have grown taller." Aurora insisted as the twins hugged her.

"How could they have grown taller within two weeks?" Katie stated, shaking her head and the whole room boomed with laughter.

The twins were back and the house was bubbling.

"Jay definitely grew taller because he was busy eating everything he laid his eyes on. I felt embarrassed on his behalf. Such a glutton!" Irene teased her twin brother.

"Did I ask you to be a picky eater and be growing shorter!" Jay retorted and the twins ran after each other in the room.

"Cat and mouse, they're at it again! They have come and now the house won't ever be quiet, anymore!" Matthew pointed out and everybody laughed. Everybody loved the twins.

"The twins are so adorable. You're lucky to have them as your siblings." Katie said to her friend.

"Huh, they're as adorable as much as they're troublesome. If they stay with you for a week, you'd be fed up." Aurora warned her.

"I don't think I would mind!" Katie maintained.

"Wait up, let me show you how a shortie deal with anybody that dares mess with her." Irene yelled after her brother.

Out of sheer excitement, the twins shifted into their wolves and tackled each other to the ground, then they started licking their faces. That was to show their adoration towards themselves. A traditional way of the werewolves playing.

"Oh my God! Shift back right now! Didn't I warn you guys to not shift inside the house? You're going to clean up the whole house till I can't see a strand of hair anywhere." Selene yelled at them.

"Guys, no shifting inside the house, you better behave!" Matthew joined his wife in calling the twins to order.

"Am I normal for feeling jealous at seeing my siblings in their real forms?" Aurora mused sadly, and heaved a deep sigh as she looked at her siblings who were in their wolves' forms, playing.
