[Anthony's POV]
"Well, you've certainly come a long way in exploring magic."
Zatara admitted.
"I know, Tony helped me."
Zatanna smiled at him, still trying to keep him in her sight... just in case.
"But what were you doing here?"
"I'm grateful to Tony for helping you."
He genuinely thanked me.
"But if you ever hurt my little girl, it's on you."
He pointed at me.
"Dad! Don't threaten Tony!"
Zatanna exclaimed.
"Besides, you probably couldn't do anything to him. He's killed gods on Olympus..."
"What?"
He blinked.
"Oh, right... your godhood."
"Yeah, it's energy from Olympus. I wanted to become as strong as possible to find you so that Allura's curse wouldn't be fatal. As you can see, it worked."
"It was one of the solutions to the problem. When I realized what curse it was, I had to stay away to ensure you wouldn't die. Those were difficult years, but I knew you would be okay. In this dimension, I sought knowledge on lifting such curses."
Overall, the conversation between father and daughter took some time. I even gave them some alone time while I surveyed this dimension.
It was filled with magical energy and elemental undertones, making it difficult for the locals to use regular magic.
However, they had developed a strong artifact culture to compensate for this weakness.
Additionally, some cursed spirits were plaguing this world, but the people had become adapted at killing them and lifting curses.
I could understand why Zatara chose this dimension.
He no longer needed to stay so far from Zatara as the curse was no longer fatal and didn't cause significant problems.
Nevertheless, he still wanted to completely lift it and had already started to do so.
He returned to Earth with us, and I left again to give them some time together that they had been robbed of as father and daughter.
Decision Time: 8 days
There are just over a week left until the start of the new mission.
I prepared for it by making Eighth Metal clothing for each group member.
I would have used Nth Metal, but the wearer needs to have sufficient Willpower to maintain this metal in a concentrated form... and that is very difficult.
It's one thing to have a small amount of Ninth Metal in a ring or weapon and quite another to have a full armor set.
So, the metal of the gods is more practical.
"Brother, do you have time for..."
Lena was strong and graceful at the time, but suddenly, she tripped on flat ground.
This caused cracks to form in the floor, and she ended up falling headfirst into my lap.
I almost fell when I tried to catch her... on flat ground! When I looked at the card I had recently assimilated, I knew who was to blame.
Rito Yuuki (B) (100%)
I decided to assimilate this card as this guy was very lucky with girls.
It's not that I wanted a huge harem, but I didn't mind maintaining good relationships with them... though this might have been a mistake.
"You know, I got turned on by your position."
I admitted, and she rolled her eyes and stood up.
"Then calm down because people from S.T.A.R. Labs will be here in an hour to talk about the reactor."
She said in a strict outfit.
She sighed deeply and looked into my shameless and desire-filled eyes as if she were asking why she had to deal with all of this.
Then she took off her pants, bowed over, and stuck out her delicious behind.
However, I felt her desire and that she enjoyed my attention to her emotions.
"Sister understands brother like no one else."
I kissed one of her cheeks and positioned my friend under her already dripping pussy... Lena herself is quite a lewd person, even if she tries to hide it.
"This is... to help you, yes."
She said, biting her lip as I entered her.
"I believe you..."
In general, that hour was very productive.
We went to the meeting, where we signed the documents.
Now, LuthorCorp is to build a reactor at one of the S.T.A.R. Labs bases in Central City.
The reactor will also be established in Canada, and the company already has branches in France and Germany.
We also have agreements in China and Japan, with which we signed agreements about six months ago.
Gacha Points: 132
Chat Points: 69,380
I recently bought a hundred points, each one cost two hundred and fifty dollars.
I paid twenty-five thousand dollars in total... prices are rising.
With one hundred and thirty-two points, I can spin the gacha twice, which I immediately did.
Enhancement Card (S)
Kaori Miyazono (C)
Megalodon (D)
Bucket of Snow (E)
...
Alpha Stigma (A)
Random Movie/TV Show Travel Card (C)
Santa's Staff (B)
"Alpha Stigma?"
I raised an eyebrow and immediately started reading the description.
[Alpha Stigma: These eyes could analyze and comprehend all magic and see hidden things, magical seals, traps, and more.]
[Side Effects: The bearer of the eyes can go berserk if they have a "mental" trauma or if the bearer experiences negative emotions... but that was with regular mages, not with a god.]
"I like it."
I created a mirror in front of me and activated the ability after assimilating it.
I also immediately learned how to use the ability, and there were no issues from that side.
A magical seal immediately appeared in my eye... a golden hue with a purple glow around the edges.
I immediately summoned the compass with Allura's soul inside and... I could see the entire structure of the compass, the seals and magical enchantments, and the soul itself.
I could see magic before too, but... now it has reached a new level.
I didn't value Santa Claus's staff much because it was just a staff without any powers.
Its rank was only due to its owner, making it essentially a trinket.
The card for traveling to a random movie or T.V. show sounded interesting, but it probably wouldn't be anything remarkable given its rank.
I'll explore that option later.
The Enhancement Card was more intriguing.
I'd encountered such a card before, but it was an "A" rank, whereas this one was a higher rank.
Then there was Kaori Miyazono… that name was familiar from my previous world.
She was a girl who loved music and a gifted violinist with a terminal illness.
In the end, she didn't survive the operation despite the doctors' best efforts and passed away.
She's ranked "C" due to her musical talent.
The big question now is what to do with her card.
This is the first time I've received a character, or rather a person, that I don't need to assimilate.
What would I gain from her?
The ability to play the violin?
That seems useless…
Cortana doesn't count as she was an A.I. and doesn't remember anything, as I've already asked.
However, Kaori is a living, breathing person who is not programmed to worship people.
Those I've assimilated before didn't have memories of being in the card, but… how do they feel in that form?
Does the gacha abduct bodies and freeze them in time? Make a copy of the being? Make a deal?
I can test this now, but I have some reservations.
She's a fifteen-year-old girl from an entirely ordinary world. I live in the D.C. universe… though I could summon her in Erina's world as an option.
"Alright, I can move her there anytime."
I shrugged.
I'm still considering how to present myself to her, and I don't want to scare her.
She doesn't seem to possess any particularly useful combat skills and is just a civilian.
But leaving her in the card doesn't feel right either… I could teleport to Olympus and introduce myself as a god, and I wouldn't be lying, but… there's a better way.
"Summon Kaori Miyazono."
I took out the card and chose to summon rather than assimilate.
This is a good way to test how the summoned being will react to the world and how loyal they will be to me.
A figure of a teenage girl in a school uniform began to materialize from the light in front of me. Her blonde hair flowed down her back, and her large eyes widened in bewilderment.
She held a small pouch in her hands, and next to her appeared a pink suitcase with a violin case on top.
Using my X-ray vision, I saw that it indeed contained a regular violin, and the suitcase held clothes sized for a young girl.
"I'm... alive?"
Kaori muttered while blinking and starting to turn her head.
I was sitting at my desk, looking at her with interest, when I noticed immediately that her heartbeat got faster.
"Hello, Kaori."
I said friendly.
"Oh, sorry... for staring at you. B-but, I thought I... died?"
She stammered uncertainly.
"Calm down and have a seat."
I pulled a chair out for her and seated her.
"What do you remember last?"
"I... um... I lay down on the operating table and wrote a letter to my friend just in case I didn't survive... I guess I didn't survive, right?"
She looked at me touchingly.
"Don't worry, you're alive now and as far as I can tell, completely healthy. Do you... remember what happened afterward?"
"Yes..."
She nodded uncertainly.
"I heard a voice asking if I wanted another chance at life... am I in another world?!"
She suddenly stood up and clasped her hands in front of her.
"Yes, you are in another world. I summoned you... with my power, let's call it that. You are the first person I've summoned this way, which is why I'm asking these questions. Do you want something to eat?"
"So, you're not a god?"
She asked me somewhat shyly.
"Um, if you mean an all-powerful being, then no."
I replied in a way that didn't lie but didn't reveal everything.
It's not that I was afraid... but it would be easier to talk to her if she didn't know she was facing someone capable of killing gods.
"How about you tell me everything in order, and then I'll tell you about this world, okay?"
Kaori nodded, her eyes still wide with a mix of confusion and curiosity.
She began recounting her memories from the moment she was on the operating table, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke of the uncertainty and fear she felt.
I listened attentively while giving her time to process everything and providing reassurance when needed.
After she was done, I started to tell her about the world she was in, including the different realms and the amazing skills some people had.
I kept the details about the dangers and my own capabilities for now and wanted to ease her into the reality of her new life.
Kaori listened intently, her expression slowly shifting from confusion to tentative acceptance.
It was a lot to take in, but she handled it well.
I offered her some food, and as we ate together, I continued to answer her questions to help her acclimate to her new existence.
She recounted her story in more detail while sharing her fears of death and how her childhood friend Kosei supported her.
They had performed together at a rather large concert, and Kosei was her only close friend who knew about her illness and about her death.
As I recall, her "friend" was a boy. Then, while telling her about my world, an amusing situation arose...
"S-Superman?"
She stared at the television, where there was a report about Clark.
It turned out that there were D.C. comics in her world, and her friend was interested in them, so she knew something about it.
"So yes, this world is somewhat... dangerous."
"I can s-see that..."
She looked at her violin case.
"That's my violin... did it come here with me too?"
"As you can see. There are also your other belongings... apparently."
I said when she focused her attention on the suitcase.
"And what should I do?"
She asked vaguely.
"You summoned me...?"
She looked at me.
"I don't need anything from you, I just wanted to give you a second chance. You wanted a new life, free from illness, and now here is your chance."
"Yes, I did. And... thank you."
She said shyly.
"Thank you very much!"
She repeated with a smile and tears in her eyes while bowing to me.
After talking with her about what she wanted from life, I gave her some time to be alone and showed her her new living quarters in the building.
It was one of the apartments on the upper floors. There was also a computer, food, and other necessities.
She behaved pretty humanly. She was scared, thoughtful, confused, and made her own assumptions.
In other words, she acted like an ordinary girl, and the experiment was quite successful.
She wasn't particularly loyal to me, but she didn't have any thoughts that I was dangerous or anything like that.
It's either the influence of the Gacha, or she wasn't particularly fearful by nature.
I think she will accept my offer to live in a world with delicious food because she knows some details about this world and that it is not entirely safe.
However, I can't blame her because that's the truth.
