Chapter 157 - She's Going to Rebel

It has been a month since the war ended.

The wounds on Ruan Shu's body have healed, and she is now able to eat, drink, run, and jump with a much more cheerful and bold demeanor compared to before.

However, her family still treats her as if she were a fragile porcelain doll, carrying her while walking and not allowing her to attend online classes because it would drain her mental energy.

They even feed her during meals, and every time she tries to use chopsticks, it seems as if they are just for show.

They won't even let her engage in excessive physical activity.

Ruan Shu, after a month, was ready to rebel!

So, one day after breakfast, Ruan Shu, who had a round little belly, wanted to go out for a walk to aid in digestion.

"You should stay still and take some digestive medicine."

"No!"

It was the first time the young girl had so resolutely refused; her soft voice sounded even more coquettish.

Yet, her determination showed as she wriggled under the table and transformed into a beautiful, snow-white cat, stretching her limbs and paws, ready to run outside.

"ShaSha!"

Ruan He hurried to catch up, followed by Ruan Qingran.

To take care of Ruan Shu during this time, he had been staying at his nephew's house.

Once outside, Ruan Shu shook her furry body and turned her head to look at her grandfather and brother. Her little legs moved even faster.

She was truly better now and needed to prove it to her grandfather and brothers.

As she looked back while running, her fluffy tail accidentally hit something, causing her to stumble and roll to a stop.

She had knocked her head with a "duang," causing her to reel back in a daze, then shaking her head to regain her focus.

A shadow fell over her, and then she was scooped up.

It was her eldest cousin. The soft "miaow" was simply too delicate.

"Did it hurt when you bumped into something?"

Ruan He took the furry ball in his hands, expressing concern.

Shaking her head, the snow-white furball looked earnestly at her grandfather.

She wasn't really hurt; cats aren't that fragile.

Ruan Qingran scratched under her chin, and the cat purred and shifted her ears, looking at him earnestly.

Ruan Lianzhan couldn't help but look at her for a few more moments and then whispered softly.

"Is she a bit silly?"

Otherwise, why would she place such an important part of her body into someone else's hands so carelessly?

He looked down at the cat, which innocently met his gaze.

Ruan Lianzhan...

He had to admit that his younger brother was completely right.

He wasn't embarrassed; he just nodded. "Pretend I didn't say anything."

Ruan Shu... Don't think that the cat doesn't understand what you're implying!

She struggled and slipped out of her grandfather's arms and said, "You go on chatting." I'm off for a run.

While she might not have a stellar physique and may not be able to get stronger no matter how hard she tries, she could exercise to improve her running speed.

A little weakling might not be able to attack or defend, but even running away is an option.

The little white cat ran off, its fluffy fur trembling as she dashed with her sleek paws.

Ruan Qingran watched her joyous little steps, and his eyes softened, revealing a warm smile.

Ruan Lianzhan calmly glanced at him, genuinely curious about his little cousin.

However, after a brief encounter in the last two years, everyone had changed so much that they seemed like completely different people.

And that change all centered on his little cousin.

Ruan Shu ran a short distance before turning back to see that neither her grandfather nor her brother were trying to stop her. Happier, she lifted her head high before strutting off with brisk steps.

Where was her little ball? It felt like she had eaten a lot this month and gained a significant amount of weight!

Of course, she had become even softer, and her belly was now very soft to the touch.

Looking up at the hanging basket, she positioned herself, leaped up with precision, but fell just a little short. She almost hit the edge, but she quickly grabbed it with her small paws.

The feline's fluffy face showed disbelief, her eyes widened. She used to be able to jump in perfectly!

But now she was in danger of falling!

She struggled to maintain her balance, with her back end hanging in the air.

Also, because she had eaten well, her body lengthened, and her small belly became even more visible.

As the three onlookers observed her efforts for about a minute to hoist herself into the basket, they remarked, "..."

Ruan Lianzhan couldn't help but burst into laughter.

The wary cat turned around and, upon seeing them, understood exactly what her eldest cousin found amusing.

The cat embarrassingly and sheepishly clawed awkwardly; she had thought she could jump in perfectly, but she had just made a big, hilarious mistake.

Ruan Qingran and Ruan He's shoulders shook, but their eyes were filled with endearment.

After all, the cat was too cute, but she was actually a bit useless.

Ruan Shu felt a bit embarrassed and burrowed into the blanket.

The once flat and smooth indented blanket suddenly developed a small bump.

Her tail, swaying slightly, was noticed, and a white paw stretched out from the blanket to grab it and pull it back.

Ruan Shu corrected her tail's disobedience before retreating back into the blanket, seemingly instructing it to behave.

Ruan Lianzhan watched the entire scene and seemed to understand why the whole family had become so abnormal.

Although it should have been a tedious and time-consuming task, he just couldn't bear to look away from her. A feeling of unprecedented relaxation and calmness washed over him.

The three of them sat down for tea, discussing state affairs, but their attention would occasionally shift to the small lump that moved sporadically.

Thinking that her grandfather and brother were probably not paying attention to her, Ruan Shu tentatively stretched out her white paw to play around.

She remembered placing her vine ball here, but where did it go?
