Chapter 137 - He Refuses Cake

Upon turning around, Ruan Ling'an immediately noticed someone outside the supermarket, their expression complex as they observed him. He proceeded to walk over with Ruan Shu in his arms and casually tossed the bag he was holding to them.

"Here, take it."

Rong Jun hastily caught it, lifting his head to find the delicate young girl nestled in Ruan Ling'an's embrace. She timidly glanced at them before quickly averting her gaze.

Ruan Ling'an took the basket from her hand without hesitation, unceremoniously passing it to He Qi, and then casually introduced them to Ruan Shu.

"These are my three roommates."

Ruan Shu nodded in acknowledgment and offered polite greetings to the trio.

"Hello."

Before they could respond, they were already being whisked away by Ruan Ling'an.

The three roommates exchanged looks.

So, were they not even worthy of being introduced by name?

Rong Jun: "Is this... his supposedly 'cheap' sister?"

He Qi asked, "Didn't he claim he wouldn't get along with his sister?"

An Lan: "Haha..."

The individual had adamantly declared that he wouldn't get along with his sister, yet how much time had actually passed? Upon reflection, they only spent a significant amount of time together during his time at home. But that was just for a day or two. How did he become so proficient in embracing people on campus upon their reunion?

Ruan Ling'an was such a deceitful fellow!

The three quickly caught up, not minding Ruan Ling'an's lack of introduction; they were perfectly capable of introducing themselves.

"You must be Ling-ge's sister." I am He Qi, Ling-ge's roommate and classmate.

"Hello, sister." I am Rong Jun, also Ling-ge's roommate and classmate. You can call me Brother Rong Jun.

An Lan nodded to her. "An Lan."

Ruan Shu rested her chin on her brother's shoulder, her voice sounding tender.

"Hello, He Qi, Brother Rong Jun, and Brother An Lan."

Due to her shyness, her voice was rather soft. However, no one minded; their hearing was quite acute, accustomed to loud voices. Hearing her soft, gentle voice was quite unique.

And she was exceptionally polite!

Rong Jun was lively, spending the journey introducing Ruan Shu to the school's buildings and sharing some interesting anecdotes.

Ruan Shu leaned against her brother's shoulder, the flesh on the side of her face being squished flat.

She listened attentively to their conversation, her blue eyes twinkling with a faint smile, exuding an incredibly gentle demeanor.

When had they encountered such a personality before? She seemed easily bullied, yet also incredibly captivating.

Upon arriving at the back hill of the school, Ruan Ling'an stood atop the hill, overlooking the entire campus.

"Right here."

Setting the person down, he immediately took off his jacket and spread it on the ground. He placed the snacks, water he had bought, and Ruan Shu's pastries on top.

The group sat down on the grass, with Ruan Shu seated beside her brother.

"Sister, try this sausage." "It's delicious."

At this moment, both Rong Jun and He Qi seemed more enthusiastic than Ruan Ling'an about addressing Ruan Shu as their sister.

Rong Jun rummaged through the basket. "Brother, what did your sister bring you?"

He couldn't help but feel envious.

"This is incredible." She even brings you snacks to school. "Why don't I have such a considerate sister?"

"Sister, why don't you become my sister?"

Ruan Ling'an shot them a look. "Can't you be a bit more subtle?"

He opened a pack of mildly spicy dried fish and handed it to Ruan Shu. "Who said you're my sister?" "

I've tolerated you for a long time.

A murderous look flashed in his eyes.

Are you looking for a fight?

Rong Jun gestured a zipper across his lips.

"Fine, I'll be quiet."

"This scent... mutated fruits?"

He Qi exclaimed, "There must be several kinds of mutated fruits in these."

Upon closer inspection of the items, they discovered mango pancakes, apple pies, blackberry jam cupcakes, strawberry cakes, and coconut jelly.

They were all made from mutated fruits.

Now, all three of them looked on with envy.

Most importantly, these pastries looked incredibly delicious, made with ample amounts of exotic fruit ingredients.

For some families of modest means, they can only afford imperfect fruits once or twice a month.

But here they were, with so many varieties, all at once.

Truly befitting of a Marshal's family, indeed extravagant!

Even Ruan Ling'an hadn't expected that all of these were made from mutated fruits.

"Why did Dad buy you so many mutated fruits?"

He knew how little appetite the child had.

Ruan Shu earnestly ate the dried fish, counting on her fingers to demonstrate.

"No, it's not." I picked the blackberries with a friend in the forest, and the mutated mangoes and strawberries were gifts from my friend. We also have a mutated watermelon at home, brought back by Grandpa. "The apples were given by Grandpa Liu, and the coconuts were from Grandma Min..."

As she rambled on, not only Ruan Ling'an, but the other three also looked dumbfounded.

"So many people!"

Why didn't they have many people providing them with mutated fruits?

Ruan Ling'an's focus shifted slightly. "Friends?" Where did you make friends, and what are their names? How did you get to the forest? "Do you know how dangerous it is?"

Ruan Shu hesitated for a moment. It probably wasn't convenient to disclose Almer's name.

She murmured softly, "They live in the neighboring estate." "You'll know when you go back, as Dad and the others all know."

Ruan Ling'an glanced at her but didn't press further.

He took the cakes and asked Ruan Shu, "Which one do you like?"

Ruan Shu pointed at the mango pancakes.

Actually, she wasn't picky about sweets.

Ruan Ling'an fed herself, then reluctantly handed a strawberry cake to the three people sitting across from her.

The three roommates were discussing their plans for the weekend.

Well, they were used to it; having anything to eat was good enough.

"Why don't you eat, brother?" "We have more at home, and I can make them myself."

Taking a bite of cake, Rong Jun asked, "Did you make these yourself, sister?"

Ruan Shu nodded. With her brother's mango pancakes already in front of her, she could only open her mouth to eat them.

The flesh on her cheeks immediately became more rounded, looking very pinchable.

"Brother, I'll eat them myself."

"Mm."

Ruan Ling'an turned his head and met the three pairs of jealous and envious eyes.

He raised an eyebrow; he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at this moment.

"Brother Rong Jun, do you like this one?" We have a lot of blackberries at home. "If you like them, I'll bring some next time."

Ruan Ling'an glanced at the cake and then back at Ruan Shu.

He doesn't eat cake.

Then, he quickly finished the blackberry cake in two or three bites.

The three roommates stared at him with dead fish eyes.

They remembered that a girl had once brought him a cake, which he immediately passed on to others, expressing his disdain for it.

And now? Is this what you call not eating?

Ruan Ling'an sneered. If he didn't eat, wouldn't it just benefit those three idiots across from him?

Compared to this loss-making deal, he would rather eat cake.

"Is it good, brother?"

Ruan Shu looked at him expectantly with her blue eyes.

Ruan Ling'an licked his lips. It's not bad.

"Mm."

The young girl's eyes immediately lit up with a satisfied smile.
