Chereads / Star Meow Meow / Chapter 4 - The Marshal is Back, Daddy

Chapter 4 - The Marshal is Back, Daddy

Before coming to the Ruan family, she had always thought that people in this world only consumed sticky and unappetizing food.

After joining the Ruan family, she discovered that they not only had delicious frozen meals but also fresh food options.

Today, there was a seafood feast that the kitten loved to eat.

Ruan Shu sat obediently at the table, but despite the large dining table, she was the only one there. Even though it had been almost a week, she still wasn't used to it.

The steward stood beside her, introducing the dishes, but Ruan Shu wished he would sit down and eat with her. But the steward would definitely not agree, as she had tried to ask on the first day.

Sitting upright in her petite frame, Ruan Shu savored a large shrimp, her eyebrows raised in satisfaction.

She thanked the world, even though Xiao Yuanyi didn't have the patience to prepare her food, and the sticky, unpleasant nutrients were not appetizing. At least she had grown up and hadn't been starved to the point of resembling a refugee.

"Oh?" "Your father is back, Miss."

As Ruan Shu was eating, she heard the steward say this, and the food she hadn't chewed properly almost got stuck in her throat.

"Cough, cough..."

Her long, snow-white face turned crimson from coughing, and her eyes teared up as she looked pitifully at the steward.

The steward quickly handed her a glass of water.

"Miss Ruan Shu, are you okay?"

Ruan Shu shook her head, her eyes still a bit red, resembling a timid rabbit.

"Daddy."

The little girl suddenly became nervous; it was her first time seeing her father that day.

"Miss, don't be afraid." Although the master appears cold and fierce, he would not simply strike a child.

Ruan Shu: ... What if I become even more scared?

Ruan Shu quickly got off her chair and followed the steward outside, feeling anxious and filled with a sense of anticipation she didn't even understand.

A blue-black hovercar flew across the sky and landed steadily in the courtyard.

Ruan Shu's slender fingers tightly gripped her clothes as she watched the car door open. A man in black military boots exuded a cold and fierce aura as he stepped out of the car.

The man was tall and slender, standing over two meters tall, with handsome features that exuded a dangerous and cold sharpness. His ice-blue eyes resembled frozen glaciers, exuding an invisible sense of oppression.

Ruan Shu only glanced at him and quickly averted her gaze, her delicate fingers trembling nervously.

"Master."

The steward approached, took off his gloves, and quietly explained Ruan Shu's situation to him.

Ruan Shu clearly felt her father's gaze on her.

It was a kind of oppressive gaze that made her scalp tingle. Ruan Shu bit her lip, timidly raised her little head, revealing eyes that were five parts similar to his, especially those blue eyes.

"Dad… Daddy."

Ruan Shu gathered her courage and called out to him in a soft, timid voice.

Ruan Xiao walked up to the little child, who was not even as tall as his legs, and his cold, blue eyes met hers.

The little girl, as if startled, quickly looked away, her eyelashes trembling uneasily.

"How old are you?"

His deep voice was as cold and emotionless as anyone else's, devoid of any feeling.

"Four... four years old."

"Has your psychic power been tested?"

Ruan Shu's heart tightened at the question, and her two delicate hands became even more nervous and restless. Her voice was even softer when she answered this time.

"Yes, it has been tested."

"How much?"

His tone was flat, as if he were asking a routine question.

"F."

Ruan Shu's voice trembled as she answered the letter, already aware of what that character represented. The little one didn't dare to look up at her father's expression.

She was extremely afraid at the moment, and her face was even paler, as if it could dissipate at any moment.

"Okay, go inside."

His voice remained emotionless, refraining from blaming her or deeming her useless.

Ruan Shu breathed a sigh of relief as she watched her father walk ahead, quickly following him with her short legs.

Just as she was about to catch up, the person in front suddenly stopped, and Ruan Shu, who hadn't braked in time, bumped into him.

"Um..."

Her father didn't move, and the little girl, who had been hit, took three steps back, holding her forehead.

Ruan Xiao looked at her.

Ruan Shu was so scared that her fluffy fur stood on end, but she obediently stood still, sniffled, and looked at him with teary eyes.

It wasn't that she wanted to cry, but it hurt so much. 😢

Ruan Xiao raised his eyebrows and frowned slightly. Why was she so prone to crying? She didn't seem like a star beast cub at all.

He had never encountered such a cub before.

"Breakfast."

The steward said, "It's already being prepared."

Ruan Xiao nodded silently and took a seat at the dining table.

Ruan Shu cautiously moved to a chair not far from him.

Ruan Shu looked at her breakfast and realized she hadn't finished eating some of the dishes.

Her eyelashes trembled with fear, but she tried hard to push the uneaten breakfast in front of her towards her father.

Ruan Xiao looked over, and the little one immediately trembled, her voice quivering as she spoke.

"Here, for Daddy to eat."

Ruan Xiao's long fingers tapped on the table as his voice turned cold, "Eat it yourself."

The frightened child quickly withdrew her uneaten breakfast and shrank back, emitting a soft whimper.

Ruan Xiao's breakfast was soon ready, and it was several times larger than what was in front of Ruan Shu.

Ruan Shu's mouth dropped open as Daddy ate so much.

The father and daughter ate quietly, without making a sound.

Ruan Shu sat across from her father, stealing glances at him while eating. Without realizing it, her stomach was already full.

I'm so full (T ^ T)

She let out a small burp and quickly covered her mouth, touching her slightly protruding belly. Her face wrinkled with uncertainty.

"Steward."

Her father's voice immediately caught Ruan Shu's attention, and she secretly looked at him with satisfaction.

Perhaps due to her lack of love from a young age, Ruan Shu was quite sensitive to people's emotions.

Although her father appeared cold and fierce, he did not push her away or dislike her, unlike Xiao Yuanyi, who always had a calculating expression whenever she saw her.

Despite her father's cold and fierce appearance, Ruan Shu was not actually afraid of him.

Despite her psychic power being strong, he did not drive her away, and he did not dislike her.

That was already good enough.
