Before I could react, the floor beneath me gave way, and I tumbled into the darkness below. As I fell, I heard the advisor's voice echoing in the chamber above.
"Good luck, Jade. You're going to need it."
I landed with a thud on a hard, uneven surface. Groaning, I sat up and looked around, but the darkness was impenetrable. My mind raced as I tried to make sense of what had just happened. Was this some kind of trap? Or had I stumbled upon something more significant?
As my eyes adjusted to the gloom, I noticed a faint, eerie glow emanating from ancient runes carved into the walls. They pulsed with a soft, blue light, illuminating the chamber just enough to make out the details. The air was thick with dust and the scent of old magic.
I pulled myself to my feet and dusted off my clothes. "Well, this is just great," I muttered to myself. "Trapped in a dark, creepy underground chamber. Thanks, universe."
